Blud e'ell Ken,
I don't know what to think now ...
but going from almost a draw away at Cardiff,
beating Blackpool & Sheff wed both away, both convincing...
to.
4 points from 24.
& a very lucky point at home to Blackpool...
The 'turn around' is, er , lets say remarkable.
Is it the players ! or Him ?
It is essentially his side now.
Mind you. Playing in a 'Library' might be an ordeal for any side , A very strange situation. with no apparent solution forth coming.

Chairmen/owners getting nervous with the transfer window looming...do they entrust the incumbent with a few £m...are they 100% happy with their season so far...

It's mid term decision time...like half time...nervous time for managers, coaching staff and supporters alike.

The transfer window is a total nonsense, it inflates prices and gets managers sacked.

Transfers should be allowed all season up to March...then you stick with what you have...and no loanees after March either..unless a 'genuine' emergency.

Fair comment Ken , although the main complaints my family aim at Grayson was that after your FA cup match against Man Utd in Jan 2010, Grayson appeared unable to organise the defence, which went on to concede 143 goals in the following 97 games, which also consequently caused them to seriously question whether he was capable of improving his defence strategy/tactics, to ensure a lot of your heavy defeats did not re-occur. They also questioned quite a few of his transfer dealings, although most of these were done on a loan basis, plus he was also failing to get the best out of the players at his disposal, which to be fair, I suppose you could level at a fair number of managers.

However, most of my family point the blame finger mainly at the money grabbing Bates, who failed to cough up the money to keep some of your better players, although Bates claimed that around £9 million had been made available for Grayson to spend.

Mind you, If I were you I'd be worried when you have Neil Warnock as your manager, who is on record as saying in the past "I hate Leeds United. The only reason I would become their Manager is to get them relegated" whilst didn't Bates also say whilst Chairman of Chelsea, following Leeds United's fans recking of the Chelsea's Scoreboard, "Untill my dying day I will make sure Leeds pay for this"

However in retrospect, I might have been better waiting a few more days to cool down, following last Saturdays very disappointing end to the Blackpool match, before I posted the above thread - I might then have been a bit kinder to Larry.

PS: I never realised your fans pet name for your current manager is "Colin W-nker", which is an anagram of his real name.

We were undoubtedly the worst of the 3 promoted teams - we are (okay, only just) the best in terms of league position now. Out of the players Grayson inherited, only 1 is definitely good enough for the championship (Hunt). He ain't doing that bad.

"Grayson appeared unable to organise the defence, which went on to concede 143 goals in the following 97 games"

Think it says a lot that we only conceded more than 2 goals twice in the League One campaign, 0-3 against Swindon and 3-2 against Gillingham. These results both occurred in April after Paddy Kisnorbo was injured at 0-0 against Millwall (went on to lose 2-0), at the end of March.

Then in the following season, the heavy defeats i mentioned occured in the first 3 months with our defence made up of Paul Connolly (Derby reject), Neil Collins (Blades reject), Richard Naylor (Leeds fan and captain, great in League 1, but probably similar to Clarke for you guys not good enough for the step up) and Fede Bessone free signing from Swansea.

Not doubting it was poor and never really got up to a decent standard in the Championship, but even in his last season he wanted to bring in Kaspars Gorkss, ended up going to Reading and winning the league. Yet in League One with Southampton, Charlton, Norwich and ourselves with the biggest budgets we had the joint best defensive record with Millwall.

"They also questioned quite a few of his transfer dealings"

Again i look at his last season in charge, bringing in free signings like Mika Varynen and Mikael Forssell both in September (one month into the season ). Once again it tells me his first choice signings failed e.g. Jack Cork, promoted automatically with Southampton.

"I hate Leeds United. The only reason I would become their Manager is to get them relegated"

He's doing a poor job so far then

"Untill my dying day I will make sure Leeds pay for this"

'I shall not rest until Leeds United are kicked out of the football league. Their fans are the skum of the Earth, absolute animals and a disgrace. I will do everything in my power to make this happen'

I don't reckon him becoming president is the best outcome then if that's how he feels

in an open game we look as capable as anyone in this division..
we matched le-ds in the first half then retreated into the defensive mode and there were 3 shots on target in the second half all from le-ds.. you cant argue with the result in anyway when that happens..
posh cant defend, so they havent bothered over the past few games(i speak to a fan of theirs and he is beside himself at the go for it attitude they have now) look at their results!!!
cardiff can play forward and defend well enough, hull and boro are similar... everyone else is capable at any point of beating each other but only if you actually try to do it..
Even in a dismal performance like saturday once it got more open we looked 10x better..
my advice to grayson, get a pair and go for it saturday from the start.. we cant defend, they cant defend, back your loanees(expensive ones at that) to score more than madine and co....

In individual sports… athletics, badminton, cycling, fencing, golf, judo, motor racing, ski jumping, swimming, wrestling etc. participants go out with the intention of beating the opposition... not much point in bothering otherwise. This attitude applies in American team sports… there is no such thing as a draw in baseball… and I reckon it applies in this country in both codes of rugby. However, it doesn’t appear to apply in association football.

It used to… "We aim to equalise before the other team score.” Danny Blanchflower (1926-1993)

Two-legged ties have a lot to answer for. They should be banned.

perhaps draws should have no points given...in fact they could scrap all the points system and just go by goals scored...

Deano,

After the latest shambles, get shut of Grayson and bring in Paul Lambert, who surely can't have much time left at Villa.

4 points from the last 24 contested is sh-te and if you can't get wait for Lambert give 38 his chance, because surely even he couldn't make a worse fist of it.

jacko,

I make it 9 games played, no wins, 5 draws & 4 defeats and a sh-t return of 5 points from the 27 available.

So, if your happy with this p-ss poor return, I can't think of many other Town fans who will be.

As for Grayson's after match comments that "we need to keep chipping away until we get that victory" - perhaps he's in the wrong job and needs to buy a chip-oil soon, where he can chip away to his hearts content.

Perhaps someone should tell him that when the chips are down the tough get going.

mirf, ta for the recommendation but i wouldnt last 5 minutes before being hauled away by the cops..
I am sorry to say i have no time for overpaid, underachievers and would probably drop a few(literally) on the first day..
I suppose i might get on better with deano as we are both long term fans of the club and as he is probably coming to realise, there is no magic or brain surgery to football management it might just be that deano will start picking the team and picking who comes and goes.. He simply cant do any worse and would be saving the silly money we pay to idiots in tracksuits with the verbal diarrohea that is "football speak"...

For what it's worth, I think Grayson will make a great manager but he's not quite there yet. You can't really judge him on his time at Leeds in the Championship because he continuously had the floor ripped from under him by Bates. Had he been backed (kept Gradel, Howson and Johnson, say) he would probably still be at Leeds and I reckon we would be challenging now.

SKB
"I hate Leeds United. The only reason I would become their Manager is to get them relegated"

Is that a quote? I thought it was Sheffield Wednesday he said that about

Grayson has only had chance to do half the job thus far..one closed season after promotion...it'll take more than that to sort out Elsies' mess and trim the vast squad he left of the chaff he brought in...

If we can get a couple in january, then release 5 or 6 no hopers and recruit another 3 or 4 decent players in the summer, then it'll be pretty much his own team..then we'll see how good he is next season.

Deano will back him, he got us promoted at the first attempt, he deserves at least another 12 months...assuming we don't get relegated

It was Mirf who wrote that sentence/quote first, i just copied it to reply to it, so no idea if Warnock actually said them words about Leeds

LUFC Leicester Exile.

Colin W-nker said what I stated about Leeds United and not Sheffield Wednesday

What he actually said about Sheffield Wednesday, when asked by a Reporter what he would do if he was their Manager, he replied "As long as the whole of my salary was paid within 28 days, I would buy so many Tosspots - although come to think of it their current squad would do, f-ck 'em up so badly, then I'd retire to Cornwall and spend the rest of my life laughing my f-cking head off"

No joking - It really is time for Larry to go now after his latest example of how to manage a football club. So Deano, get the f-ck shut and snap up O'Driscoll before some other club steps in before you.

Lets face it, with a ten match record showing no wins and only 5 points picked up from the 30 contested, how much more evidence do you want before you can see that Larry has lost his way, just same as he finally did at Leeds - only difference was he's lost it much quicker with Town.

His 41 league matches in charge have resulted in 15 wins, 11 draws and 15 defeats, which is relegation form in most fans eyes - so get shut before it's too late for someone else to come and have a chance of resurrecting our season.

I like O Driscoll Mirf,, I like the footy his sides try to play, I like the type of players he brings into his clubs and the way he brings em on,,, He probably would be a good fit for Town,, Be a shame if he joined Barnsley a month before we are in the market for a new gaffer.
