Superb clearance from Murphy. The commentators were saying how tight that black would have been if Higgins tried to play for it, and I know it's easy sitting at home, but it didn't seem that tight. Even allowing for the situation, it was a poor shot on the red whatever colour he went for. Higgins was really off-key today, but still so close to winning the match, so plaudits to him for doing that.

And Murphy manages to keep my punting interest in the tournament alive!

Selby - Williams has tight match written all over it (even before this week's results so far), and whilst most will feel Trump should steamroller Dott, will this match continue the trend of final frame deciders?

Yes, Trump should win but if Dott plays his usual slow game and brings Judd down to his level then we might see an upset. I've not been overly impressed with Trump in recent tournaments. He went out of the UK at the first hurdle and was fortunate to escape the same fate on Tuesday.

Graeme Dott, someone who is so under rated yet can put it up to the best of them.
If Judd Tump doesn't get his potting boots on soon he'll be walking out in them dreaded ones he had on the other day.

I feel Selby will edge tonight, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Not seen much of tonight's session, but see it is 4-1 Selby. Which probably means it'll finish 6-5

It's a dragging affair. I'm really not looking forward to tomorrow night's match between Dott and what looks like Selby. Only game I'll get to watch tomorrow too because I'm going to Anfield for Liverpool v Norwich. Robbo v Murphy looks tasty though!

Today's been a bit of anti-climax with a couple of one-sided matches.

Robbo will have had some run to the final if he makes it - Ding, Allen and Murphy. Of course I will be routing for my tip Murphy, but it should be a cracker of a semi. The other semi could turn out to be a 'battle in the trenches' job, but you never know, both are capable of playing good attacking snooker as well as the gritty side.

Won't wish you too much luck for the footie being a Utd fan and all that but hope it's a good game.

Not long to the start of the first semi. Not sure if anyone else will be on here, but I'll predict 6-4 Murphy. Should be an entertaining match.

4th frame could be pivotal. Murphy should have wrapped it up, but Robertson gets the snooker and fights back to go through 3-1 ahead. Robertson looks a lot more conmfortable than Murphy, and to go in at 2-2 would have been a real bonus for Murphy, now he has to overcome that slip-up.

Deserved win for Robbo, making the most of his chances. Murphy will be very disappointed with his play today - had many good chances, but kept breaking down, usually due to poor positional play. Robbo punished him every time, and in the end it was a very classy perfomance.

Looks like that's a double for you today, RKW! Hope he wins the final to earn you a bit of dough.

I don't think many people would have predicted Dott to reach the final pre-tournament.

Hi RKW. I found the first semi-final a bit of an anti-climax, but just simply because it wasn't a tight match. Robbo played good solid matchplay snooker without being totally outstanding, but punished Murphy consistently for any mistakes that he made.

Murphy will be disappointed with how he performed. Had more than enough chances in most frames to have Robbo in trouble, but kept breaking down, usually with poor positional shots, and there were a number of frames that he should have killed off but different. That was the difference in the end, Robbo made the most of his chances, Murphy didn't convert his.

Dott is starting to play some very good stuff - if he can get to the final, could be a good match.

I caught the last but of Murphy's interview after the game in this match's interval and he said he didn't play particularly well - basically saying he can have no complaints.

Always the case in some matches. If you take your chances you'll win, don't and you'll kick yourself. The only way you'll get away with missing your chances is if your opponent isn't playing well. But in a semi-final that isn't likely.

Robbo the favourite v whoever tomorrow? I think so. Although I think Dott will have a better chance of winning than what Selby will.
