By the time he's allowed back into games, he'll be a United fan again.
Bans never work, I know someone who must have been banned at least ten times but still manages to get into the games
Shouldn't have been a life ban as people are capable of change and a fan of his age will have matured in 3 years time.
A bit surprised its not a life ban.

Yeah. I've never understood what stops someone getting a ticket off a mate and walking through the turnstiles.
did they ever catch the guy who hit rio with a coin?
A fan confronts a player = get 3 year ban
A player misses a drugs test = slapped wrists
Where is the consistency?

Didn't Rio retake the test the very next day?
should have got a life ban just for wearing that flukking stupid hat in public.

It was a hair test.
Only 3 yrs... what a joke considering a lad I know just got a lifetime ban from ANY football league club for giving a NÁZI salute to the Tottenham fans at the Hammers v Spurs game..
I know it was a sillu thing to do but a bit of perspective and common sense.. The guy tried to assault Rio ffs!
The city mob were crying for consistency on their board the other day; I wonder how they feel about the glaring inconsistency of a 3 yr ban vs a lifetime ban for some OTT banter between rival fans...
Pardon me for being a grammar natzi but shouldn't it be "should have" in the op instead of "should of".
I have seen a lot of posters using that notation. Although I have yet to see "should of" being used on any other forums.
You should of stayed on those other forums...
Of course it's should have.
Should of makes absolutely no bloody sense at all and is horrific English.
I could of stayed on those forums but I would of done a huge mistake as I should of realized that ja606 is the best.

I also once saw Michael Owen tweet "could of"
