Subotic has signed a new contract today also.

Ivan Perisic has also joined Wolfsburg.

Like the look of young Moritz Leitner as well. He played quite well against City.

LARS BENDER is better and we should sign him

Football philosophies are all well and good but you need a million other things to be successful at a massive club like United

why not klopp though rob?

Id take Bender over Strootman any day, though I haven't seen as much of Strootman as many who rave about him on here I'd assume.

As many have mentioned Lars is the more complete of the two brothers, though not necessarily the better.

What has Klopp done long term? Dortmund play good football but strike me as 'flavour of the month' just like Bilbao and Zenit were over the past few years.

He is a good manager but is far down the list of people who deserve the job at United.

i want klopp as our next manager in all seriousness, he's got a fantastic football philosophy

So do Rogers and Wenger. I don't care much for philosophies, you need to adapt to the players you are working with, and inspire them to be the best they can be.

I'd prefer a motivator over a theorist any day.

why? he's won 2 league titles on the trot at dortmund one of the biggest clubs in europe, beating teams that have spent 100's of millions more than dortmund, playing beautiful football, developing some of the best young footballers in the world

Even though I'm a huge admirer of Klopp's and an avid watcher of Dortmund's, I would like to see how he does over a longer period at Dortmund but I don't see any reason why we shouldn't at least consider him when the time comes.

Surely you'd prefer Pep then?

pep would be great aswell, but id prefer klopp

Mexican

Yeah, those are good things that stand him in good stead for the future but he needs to do more for me to be considered a future United boss.

but you cant help when youre appointed though before that he took mainz into the bundesliga for the first time and took them into europe for the first time, his dortmund team scored the most points ever in the bundesliga last year, take a gamble on him i say, who else is there? mourinho or guardiola

I'm with Rob, I admire Klopp and Dortmund, but it's the clubs philosophy as much as Klopps. They were skint 10 years ago and made a plan to develop youth for the future.

It wasn't just them either, from grassroots upwards Germany as a nation took this route.

Sir Alex's attributes include man motivation, that siege mentality, getting the best out of players who on paper aren't as good as their opponents, getting the right balance between youth and oldies, knowing the league, having that fear factor with his players and that hunger to win year after year.
That is impossible to replicate but someone as close to that as possible would be awesome.

ive watched a documentary on dortmund, and they say that klopp is a fantastic motivator, who is not afraid to 'throw a few teacups' shall we say,

Klopp doesn't have the ego or experience yet. In 3 years who knows.

posted on 6/1/13

so basically youre saying mourinho is the only choice then busbys?

posted on 6/1/13

ego isnt that important

posted on 6/1/13

Not at all.

posted on 6/1/13

I think ego will be important for whoever takes over from SAF. They need to be convinced that they will succeed.
Ego, or and overwhelming drive to succeed.

posted on 6/1/13

Or PL experience. Wait, European experience too.

$hit, I don't know. What about Moyes, assisted by Ole?

posted on 6/1/13

Wtf rob, you're speaking sense today.
