Didn't Ade retire from the AFCON after that incident in Togo?

posted on 7/1/13

he retired from International footy i thought, but then went back. Then there was news saying he wouldnt be going because of unpaid bonuses

Do you have the money to sign someone like Damiao?

I think he cost 33/35mil + ?

He hasn't been paid since July 2011 or something stupid.

Good of him though, giving us a lot of notice...

"Do you have the money to sign someone like Damiao?"

Internacionals' financial situation is apparently a bit fragile at the moment.

Well... As we bidded for Moutinho, I'd say we have at least 20-25m for transfers.

Damiao would cost around £18-£20m accorind to reports

i just dont trust Levy anymore in these transfer windows. if we dont sign a striker this time we may be deep in the brown stuff

Levy hired AVB, so lets hope he wants to solidificate our front line as much as we do. Im keeping the faith until Feb 1st!

what a fecking joke this guy is, yeh tell everyone your not going and at the last minute change your mind

money grabbign waste of space.. fecking stay out there for all i care

well for me this will define our season in my opinion and it rests all on Levy. If Ade does go to the ACON then we just can't rely on Defoe as our only recognised striker (dempsey is not a proper striker) ......we need to buy someone and this could be the difference in getting CL qualification so Levy better not mess this up

Personally I wanted us to go for Ba,

Ba is a mercenary footballer, and would only go to who offered him the most money, and as Chelsea have more money than sense, it was them. I think he blows hot and cold anyway, so I don`t really want a player down at WHL, who would jump ship like he did at Newcastle and West Ham just for a bigger pay cheque.

Get a grip. If not for Levy do you think Spurs would be anywhere near 3rd. The man conducts business at WHL the way every owner, chairman in the country should.

Another positive is that if he performs in the afcon and regains some form, we've got a good striker returning

Well I can't blame Ba for leaving Newcastle, he kept being played out of position in favour of Cisse and he wasn't happy.

Hopefully we will sign Leandro or Remy

Ba was played out of position for half a season.

He also had a contract release price that was met, if chelsea came calling to you when you know they only really have Torress you wouldnt turn it down!

I'd blame whoever set the contract up, do you think levy would agree to such a small clause in a contract? Not a chance

Ade cannot be going for the money as Togo take literally ages to pay their players. His prime concern was the safety issues after the previous time when their coach was blown up.

I think that the club knew a while ago that Ade was not going to be here, just kept it quiet until as late as possible. We don't object when other players go off on international duty, so no reason to do so here is there?

As for Pardew's contract, I think Ashley will have covered all the bases & there will be performance clauses in there without a doubt. Plus Pardew is possibly one of the lowest paid managers in the PL, his main money comes from league position & win bonuses. You can bet your house that if Newcastle get relegated, Pardew will be out without compensation!

I think Ba's situation arose because of his knee problems. He still has pins hiding it together and it's pot luck whether he plays until his 30s or it packs up tomorrow. From what I gather that's why he had the relatively low release clause.....

I'm sure I read he had an incentivised contract at Newcastle. He got a basic salary regardless (say 10k per week) but if he was available for selection he got more on top (say an extra 40k per week).

Low risk for Newcastle if he got injured a lot, but in the flipside less security for Ba hence the low release clause if he got a more regular contract elsewhere.

I hate to say this about a lad thats been through our academy, but Kane is not very good. He was useless in the Championship, and looks even further off the pace with Premiership players to help him score.

He will probably never play another competitive fixture for Spurs.

Its a shame, but we have to face facts.
