-------------------------------Koen Casteels--------------------

------Thomas Muller--------Juan Mata----------El Shaarawy

Subs: Pedro Obiang, Shaqiri, Muriel, Schmelzer, De Bruyne

Freekicks: Mata
Penalties: Balotelli
Captain: Lahm

Gameplan: In this 4-2-3-1 formation, we will be playing Thomas Muller and El Shaarawy out wide, in the basis that they take full advantage of 2 attacking Opposition Full Backs. Also, we will be instructing Thomas Muller and El Shaarawy to come inside, so they become a handful for the opposition DM and CBs. They are both very good at shooting, so they shouldn’t mind having a pop at goal, as both are in fine form this season. We will look to Thomas Muller to destroy the opposition DM and really be a main threat from AM. Ilkay Gundogan will be behind him, but equally important, bombing up when he can, but sitting back and playing the passing role to ease off pressure. Thomas Muller will need to get those rocket-powered shots in at the opposition’s goal, as has a real hammer strike on him that he needs to release on goal. He will work his magic in his best position, and really support Mario Balotelli. He will use his brilliant vision to thread through balls into the attackers and try to get round a good defence. Martinez is a world class DM and has to make sure the opposition AM is given no space or time on the ball. He will keep the AM out of the game and intercept anything that comes to him. He will be breaking down play and keeping the ball as well as passing, are his best traits, so he will look to prevent any attack coming in at him, and release the ball quickly when in possession. Papadopoulos and Howedes are 2 top CBs, and both have to remain solid up against a very good striker/s, they have to make sure they don’t give away penalties/Freekicks and have to win every aerial duel and 50-50 fairly, whilst marking their men closely and tightly and cutting off runs made by the strikers. They will not make any sloppy mistakes, and remain focused. They won’t give short back passes to the GK, or play risky passes. They have to keep everything simple. We will not be beaten down the wings either, as Philipp Lahm is quite simply the best player in his position, and is one of the best ever. He should look to cut off opposition runs, and when he attacks, he should offer real width to Juan Mata, and double up on the opposition LB. David Alaba will not leave gaps behind and always track back, and will look at them to really test the opposition full backs, with their excellent runs and their fantastic crosses troubling the defence, finding Mario Balotelli, Juan Mata and El Shaarawy. Mario Balotelli will be the one who has to make runs on to every pass threaded through to him, and will be a huge threat from crosses, from the likes of David Alaba and Philipp Lahm. Thomas Muller will go up to support him, so he will not be isolated, and will use immense finishing talent to get the goals for us.

FULLBACKS: Philipp Lahm and David Alaba are both good defensively as fullbacks, but will be instructed strictly to always track back, and to never ever leave space once we lose the ball. However, when they attack, they should look to whip the ball into Mario Balotelli, El Shaarawy and Juan Mata, who are all dangerous in the box. Or they should come in and interact with Juan Mata or Ilkay Gundogan/Martinez to keep the ball. They should look to attack the opposition fullbacks every time, and take advantage of any space left from them. Lahm and Alaba are both bayern teammates and know each other inside out, and we have all seen Lahm connect brilliantly with Muller this season, and they must do that for us. Lahm is also one of the best crossers in the world, certainly from a defenders point of view, and he must look to always supply our attackers with quality ammunition

CENTRE BACKS: Howedes and Papadopoulos partner each other, and they are two, class defenders that complement each other very well. They are both good in the air, quick, and very good in the tackle, which could see us keep a clean sheet. They will be up against a powerful striker, and they will have to make sure he doesn’t get the space to turn, or head the ball in. Howedes goes for the aerial ball, up against a good quick striker, has to win every 50-50. Papadopoulos clears up everything on deck, and also has to be aware of the ST at all times, matching his movement, and instructing the defence well.

AM : Juan Mata will be playing the AM role today. His job is crucial to the team, as they will sit just in front of the DM, and will look to get the ball up to Mario Balotelli. Juan Mata will create that extra magic that is needed to unlock defences, whilst Ilkay Gundogan will sit back, just behind him, ready to help out. He will be crucial in our Counter-attacking game, as he will be the ones to supply the striker, and deliver those long, lung-busting runs across the pitch. Juan Mata will link up the play from Midfield to attack, being an enormous threat from long shots and his movement will cause plenty of problems for the opposition DM as they will have a top class AMs all over them, pressing them back towards their own defence.

DM + CM: Martinez will be guarding the back four and prevent the opponent from counter attacking, whilst dictating from deep and getting through balls into the forwards. He will break play up, and prevent any attack from happening. He will be a rock in the centre of Midfield and will control the game. He will not allow the Opposing AM/CM Any time on the ball at all. Him and Ilkay Gundogan are both great passers of the ball, and look to get the ball through to El Shaarawy, Thomas Mulleri and Juan Mata, or look to Juan Matato release those beautiful cross field passes onto the head or feet of Mario Balotelli. Martinez should be able to deal with any AM in the League, such is his class, whilst also being quick to cover down any spaces left by our attacking Full-backs, which would prevent any sudden Counter-attacking movement down the wings, and it would also free up loads of space for Juan Mata, who would either float those wonder balls into Mario Balotelli, or those sly through balls into the Path of Juan Mataor Thomas Muller. Alongisde Martinez, Ilkay Gundogan will be the dictator of the game. He will read the game brilliantly, and use his superb vision to spot runs coming in off the wings. Ilkay Gundogan will use his brilliant feet and quick thinking, to get out of dangerous situations, and find a teammate, when being pressurized, and will also look to play in our wingers. He will often go up to support Juan Mata, ready to recycle the ball when it comes back to him.

ST: Mario Balotelli is the ST for this game, and he has shown just how good he is numerous times with Milan this season, especially if he gets service, which would be no problem having Thomas Muller, El Shaarawy and Juan Mata’s backing, Ilkay Gundogan’s brilliant vision, Philipp Lahm and David Alaba’s whipped in ball’s from the wings, and with El Shaarawy and Thomas Muller by his side, he will get plenty of chances and ways to score. He will rely on his extreme Pace, positioning, Technical ability and Finishing Prowess and look to crumble any defence he comes up against, with his brilliant knack of finding the back of the net. El Shaarawy will play LW and he will look to take on and beat the Opposition RB at every opportunity, and take full advantage of any space left by the RB. Having David Alaba by his side when we attack would really help, as he will have some backing down the right flank. El Shaarawy will use his immense dribbling skills and pace to cut into the box and look to find a shot/Teammate to try and work a goalscoring opportunity. He will link up with Mario Balotelli and the 2 of them should be too much for the defence. Mario Balotelli’s best attribute is his finishing, and any chance that falls his way must be finished off. Thomas Muller will be on the RW, and he is known for cutting inside, making intelligent runs, and getting into goalscoring positions. He will link up with Mario Balotelli and El Shaarawy, causing problems down the Left Flank. He should cut in, and look to confuse the opposition, and link up with the midfield. Once he gets an opportunity to shoot, he should not be afraid of having a shot, as his extremely powerful strikes can prove to be too much for the opposition GK. Thomas Muller has a powerful run, and he should look to power his way into the box to try and set someone up. He should also look to get on the end of high/deep crosses from Lahm/David Alaba/El Shaarawy, and knock the ball down to advancing teammate

Subs:

60mins: Obiang > Gundogan, physical presence, and offers brilliant passing to the table, and more defensive steel
75mins: De Bruyne > Mata, straifght swap, but De Bruyne is a bit more relaxed, and can dictate the play from a more advanced position, whilst offering real quality with his vision and license to roam

This week we'll be looking to press the opposition and win the ball back as far up the pitch as we can, in doing so we'll be playing a higher line. We'll look to close their keeper down and not allow him to play it on the deck as he likes too, we'll also pounce on the second balls and not give the defenders any time to play.

Brad Freidel gets the nod in goal. He's a big, strong commanding presence and will look to control his area.

Garay and Umtiti will be the center backs, they have the pace to play a high line. Garay will be the one of the two who brings the ball out from defence. He'll look to get the ball to Pirlo. Umtiti is tough in the tackle but also has the speed and discipline to play in a high line. With the opposition playing the one up top we'll always have cover in the middle and should be able to freeze him out as we're quicker and stronger.

Jenkinson and Cissokho, will be operating as our wing backs. They'll be providing the cover down the flanks and the width for our attacks. They'll be looking the get forward and keep the oppositions wide men pegged back in their own half. They'll be looking to slide balls through us so we'll set out to show them outside and force them into crossing the ball in which they'll have difficulty getting anyone on the end of.

Capoue (the destroyer) takes up his place anchoring the midfield, his job will be to sit and mop up. He won't be venturing very far forward, he'll let the others in front of him do the attacking side of things. Pirlo will sit as the deep lying play maker, he'll be looking to get the ball from the defence and feed the attack via the wing backs or key passes to Kagawa/RVP.
Kagawa will be playing just in front of the 2, he'll create the space for Pirlo to work his magic. Drawing the opponents about, opening up holes in their defence.

Wijnaldum and Gaitan come back to play out wide / inside forwards. Their work rate will be important, they'll be looking to get the ball back off the opponents as quickly as they can so we can mount attacks closer to their goal. They can both cut inside, or look to one of the wing backs bombing down the flanks.

Van Persie will lead the attack, he's strong and deadly in and around the box, everyone knows what he's capable of, but his intelligence gives him the advantage and makes him pretty hard to stop. We'll be looking to get him on his left foot when we can, but also slide him through as he's more than capable of rounding the keeper.

If winning after 70 minutes:

Strootman will replace Kagawa to keep the energy up in the middle of the park. Sarabia will replace Wijnaldum to keep the opposition pegged back.

If losing after 70 minutes:

Castaignos will replace Wijnaldum, Drogba will replace Gaitan

Game Plan - Other teams won’t expect an attacking line up. They’ll be coming to ours expecting us to park the bus. As a result they’ll be very attacking. This will cause them to leave gaps in their defence and without front 5 I think we should be able to exploit that without much problem. We need to keep composed and organised however adding that extra bit of pace will hopefully cause them worry at the back. We need to take the game to them by controlling the game through possession and goals.

Positional Tactics

Adler should keep command of the defence by making sure they’re organised. He should try and catch every ball.

Rafinha has to act as a centre back for this game which I believe he can handle. When the other team sees that he is acting as a centre back they will be trying to exploit this however I feel he is perfectly capable of handling it. His job isn’t much different because he has to clear away every ball that comes to his area and stop the winger from running inside or making a cross. He should force the winger/striker back. Burdisso arguably has the most important job because he needs to lead the defence. He has to make sure Mbiwa and Rafinha are in their correct positions while also keeping the area clear. He must reduce the space their striker has and making sure he is wiped out as an option. He has to also be aware of the potential threat that might come off him. This means another striker or a midfielder who may try and run in. He should get his body in the way showing that there is no way in. Mbiwa should do the same as Rafinha keeping their winger clear and clearing all the balls away. I want the defense to have a hard mentality. That means they shouldn’t be afraid to make a hard tackle.

Veloso should act as protection for our defence. He must at all times stay back. This means keeping their playmaker quiet but also putting his body behind the ball and forcing players to move to other positions of the field. He must control the possession with Rode by supplying it to the front 5. When on the defensive we may struggle with 3 at the back so Veloso should help in defence. However when we’re on the ball he should be back in midfield. Rode must also protect the defence and keeping any other midfielders from running in. However he has more of a right to go forward. We will need someone to supply the balls to the front 5 so he’ll have the job of doing that. He must work with the wingers in order for us to gain opportunities. Use the flanks as much as possible because this will be our strongest position. I expect us to use short passes because we are a small team and will be beaten in their air if we use long ball passing.

Chamberlain and Ince should use their pace and skills to run into the box and taking any opportunities presented to them. They must roam about the midfield by looking for space and creating themselves as a passing option or look for the ball that was cleared by the defence. They should switch positions every 20 minutes to constantly make the defenders adjust to a new style of player to defend. It could also lead to them mistakenly following them which would free up space on that side of the pitch. They will be working with Niang and Jelavic to open up the defence and with all 4 on in this area it could cause problems of for their defence. It should be too much for them to handle though because they’ll have to focus on more than 1 man. They’ll be more on the wing though as an option while the strikers are likely to cut in. I expect Chamberlain and Ince to be more defensive though as our back 3 will need defensive help.

Niang and Jelavic should use their pace and strength to get into space and act as an option for the midfield to pass to. Niang has lots of pace and skill and he should exploit this when working with the wingers and the other strikers build opportunities. He should run at the defence to cause them worry. Hopefully this will lead to a mistake by them and freeing up space for other attackers. Jelavic should use his height and strength to get into the right scoring opportunities. If he moves into space then it should free up space also for Huntelaar. Jelavic shouldn’t have trouble beating off defenders because I believe he has a lot of strength to do so. He should use the flanks to help in however I want him to be in the box most of the time because that is where he is most dangerous.

Huntelaar should just look to get into goalscoring positions by using his pace and strength to force his way into the box. He should keep moving around into space and freeing up space for niang, jelavic and the wingers. I expect their defence to struggle in this game with the amount of attackers im providing today. They’ll be forced to play against strong and tall attackers, fast and skilful attackers and small attackers who they wont suspect of being in the positions they’re in.

CK – Ince
Captain - Burdisso

Mig – as a goal keeper I expect you to be loud and boss you area. I expect you to do the easy stuff right and keep concentration and allow your god given talent to make the big saves when/if needed. You have an experienced back 4 ahead of you so it should be easy.

Boeting and Coco – you’re experienced CB’s who are physically strong and great in the air. I expect neither of you to lose a header tonight and I want to see you stop the striker. Cover for each other and don’t be too silly on the ball just get rid. Though if you have time and space look to play the ball out from the back,

Barca Boy and Roncaglia –I want to see you be available for the CB’s to pass (only should they pass to you if they are not under pressure.) When you have the ball look for a pass. Link up well with the winger and run to make the overlap. Attack the bi line or cut inside and don’t be afraid to take on you man.

Nordtveit and Verratti – you are the controllers, the hub of the team and I have faith in both of you. Look to get the ball from the back 4 and play it out wide or forward. Link with everyone around you and find the killer pass. Do not be overrun in midfield and make the enforcing tackles. Both of you are playing for top European teams and are more than good enough.
Wingers – attack the man and get crosses in for Robert or Stefan to head, cut inside and shoot yourself or play early into feet. Make sure your looking for the overlap and when it happens covering the wings for counter attacks.

Robert and Stefan –look for the ball to feet and taking on defense, Make a nuisance of yourself and draw defenders to create space for the big man or get your head on crosses. Hold the ball up or shoot and score it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you are never isolated and if you are one of you drop deeper to collect the ball SCORE LOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

---------------Marco Benassi------Adrien Rabiot-----------
---Marko Livaja----------Saul Niguez----------Max Meyer
------------------------------Neal Maupay-------------

Subs: Holzhauser, Gnabry, Lopez

Mattia De Sciglio-Rampage down the right with his brilliant attacking quality, but track back to prevent runs. Must whip crosses in to the feet of attackers

Mbaye & Kolasinac-Must stay strong, win everything in the air, put body on the line, and be a rock in defence. Mbaye comes up for corners

Lucas Digne-Do what hes done at Lille, defend brilliantly, whilst also coming inside to join up with attack

Benassi & Rabiot-Rabiot more defensive, make himself a strong and physical presence, keeping the ball rolling and shooting from long range. Benassi the Inter star must link up the midfield to attack, and gives us that flair which can control a game.

Livaja-The young Inter star should look to break into the opposition box using a wide range of skills, and use his brilliant feet to jiggle away from tackles. Must link up well with Saul to cause a devastating partnership.

Saul Niguez-The main player. He will be much better in the center, and must look to get brilliant sly passes into the feet of Icardi. He will look to run up and support Icardi, but also use his fantastic vision to send in through balls out wide. He has brilliant dribbling skills so will always escape attention of his man

Max Meyer-Must cut in at all times and use his frightening pace and power to cause the RB problems. Must come in to support IIcardi, and get his brilliant shots on target

Neal Maupay-The man who has been doing brilliant this season, will play in the ST role. He will look to latch onto any ball, and use his magic to work the ball into an area where it will be the most dangerous. His brilliant runs will tire the opposition, and his finishing can be top class when given the opportunity.

Shrewsbury Town Tactics vs. Cambuur

----------------------------Schwarzer----------------------------
--------Debuchy------Evans-------Nastasic-------Davies---
--------------------Lampard--------L Bender----------------
---------Shaqiri-------------Draxler----------Rodriguez----
------------------------------Di Natale---------------------------

Subs: Stones, Kirchhoff, Neustadter, Tadic, Ba

We are playing a Cambuur side today who like to pass the ball around, however our frequent pressing, hard tackling and combatitive nature intends to break up their play. Our midfield will break up their play, whilst we will be playing a direct attacking style ourselves. We aren't concerned about keeping the ball on the floor, or even retaining it per se, but getting the ball forwards towards our attacking players as quickly and directly as possible (not long ball) to catch them on the back foot, using both our pace and skill. As a bi-product of this, we will will be able to counter effectively. We have only lost 1 of the last 7 games, including 4 wins out of the last 5 and are well accustomed to this style of play now; and with confidence high we should be able to pull a result out at home.

Schwarzer is an experienced goal keeper who has more than enough in his locker to deal with the possible threat of shots at his goal. He will only claim balls into the box on occasion due to the aerial prowess we possess in defence, although he will be its organiser. When distributing, he should look to do so quickly in order to set us on the counter attack.

Debuchy and Davies primary role is in defence, and they will be remaining tight to their man. They are solid in defence and can nullify the threat of any wingers out of the game however they also have the license to (one at a time) breaking forward at speed to provide impoteous and width to our attacks. Our center of defence has enough about them in terms of pace and strength to nullify any options that they have up front and allow as little space as possible. Both are fast, and can track the runs of the dangerous Martinez' in to the box, and whilst one (most often Evans) will stay tight to him, the other will pick up extra runners into the box. The defense will look to shift the ball towards our midfield in order to help us break at speed. The general cohesion in this settled defence means we can deal with any Cambuur attack.

Lampard and L Bender are both well honed midfielders adept at putting in a good defensive shift and closing down the opposition off of the ball. In defence, they will be looking to put pressure on the Cambuur players who like to pass the ball and cut off their supply by closing them down, and intercepting passes. However, they will also be the launchpads for our attack. Bender will spread the play in a 'quarterback'esque style, picking out the players in space and dictating the game whilst Lampard will look to use the ball and break from deep causing the Cambuur defence to always be on the back foot. He can use his long distance shooting to cause many a problem for their defence.

The danger for Cambuur not only comes from Lampard's runs from deep, and Bender's troublesome passes but also the quality we possess in the AM and Wing line. Our AMC (primarily Draxler - the role he operates for Schalke) will be able to provide options for the midfield by darting out wide, and generally making imposing runs and thredding through passes to the winger and forward that Cambuur will find difficult to defend against. He is creative, and will be the link between defence and attack to ensure we are at threat and his presence and nature as a nuisance will mean if Burnley commit to many people into an attack they will be exposed. Additionally, we have two very troublesome wingers. Both will be looking to get beyond their full back, and get onto the end of balls by Draxler/Bender and putting the ball into the box for Di Natale and any late arrivals into the box. Cambuur play attacking full backs, and the wingers should seek to exploit the space that this causes and as a consequence much of the play that we have should go through the out wide channels. If this proves unsuccessful, Bender has the game management skills to change the focus of our attacks. The wingers are the purest form of our direct play, as they use their skill, pace and trickery to either get to the byline or cut inside and create chances for other attacking players/players in attacking players. The beauty of your AM line is that all 3 are adept in all 3 posistions, and so should cause trouble for Cambuur by rotating posistions - meaning they are impossible to mark.

Di Natale is a wily fox-in-the-box. He knows his job inside out, and is on a good run of form with 2 goals from the bench in the last match. Leading from the front, he can snuff out a goal from anywhere and the direct form of football we have created which will result in the ball ending up in the box in dangerous situations suits his poacher mentality perfectly.

We are playing a direct, yet attacking style of football. We have the skill to deal with Cambuur passing the ball, whilst we can break forwards and attack at speed and with danger to mean they are never able to settle in the game - particularly exploiting the space left by their attacking full backs.

Captain: Di Natale
Penalties: Lampard
Free Kicks/Corners: Rodriguez/Lampard

Subs:

If winning after 75 mins: Kirchhoff > Nastasic, Neustadter > Draxler. 3 men in CM, Neustadter as an Anchor Man to help absorb play. Counter attacking mentality.

If losing/drawing after 75 mins: Tadic > Shaqiri, Ba > Di Natale. Physical presence up front through Ba that forces the Cambuur defence back and creates space for the other forwards.

Or they should come in and interact with Juan Mata or Claudio Marchisio/Martinez to keep the ball.

Juan Mata will create that extra magic that is needed to unlock defences, whilst Claudio Marchisio will sit back, just behind him, ready to help out.

Him and Claudio Marchisio are both great passers of the ball, and look to get the ball through to El Shaarawy, Thomas Mulleri and Juan Mata, or look to Juan Matato release those beautiful cross field passes onto the head or feet of Mario Balotelli. Alongisde Martinez, Claudio Marchisio will be the dictator of the game. He will read the game brilliantly, and use his superb vision to spot runs coming in off the wings. Claudio Marchisio will use his brilliant feet and quick thinking, to get out of dangerous situations, and find a teammate, when being pressurized, and will also look to play in our wingers. He will often go up to support Juan Mata, ready to recycle the ball when it comes back to him.

ST: Mario Balotelli is the ST for this game, and he has shown just how good he is numerous times with Milan this season, especially if he gets service, which would be no problem having Thomas Muller, El Shaarawy and Juan Mata’s backing, Claudio Marchisio’s brilliant vision, Philipp Lahm and David Alaba’s whipped in ball’s from the wings, and with El Shaarawy and Thomas Muller by his side, he will get plenty of chances and ways to score.

Jelavic Huntelaar Ince

Subs – Fabianski, Yesil, Niang, Johnson, Rowe

Game Plan – For todays game i would like us to keep the ball on the ground playing short passes among each other. This will help us keep possession and control the game. They are a strong team so if we for one second give them the opportunity to keep the ball for long lengths they will punish us. I would like our attacks to intersect among each other by every so often changing positions in order to open up space in their defence. I would like most the midfield and the full backs to roam around the pitch.

Positional Tactics:

Adler hould keep in his goal controlling his defenders to keep to their positions. He must use his strength to beat everyone to the ball. Communicate constantly with the defence to prevent confusion and mistakes.

Rafinha should play as a wing back. This means when we have the ball he should play as a supporting role to our wingers and midfielders. He must go up to add to the pressure against their defence. He should stay out wide to create a crossing option and he will try and drill the ball into the centre. I want him to bring the other defenders towards him in order to open up space for Jelavic to take advantage of. While defending Rafinha should try and push the player back. This means it gives our players the chance to get into their positions and also limiting any attacking options for them. If he can’t do that he should push him out wide to a position where he has to kick the ball off. This is because running into the box would be dangerous for us to handle so this will be prevented. Diawara should act as a full back and not go up as much as Rafinha will. This is because we want to create some stability at the back. They will be dangerous on the counter so if we look to keep some players back we can prevent goals from occurring. However I would like him to go up every now and then if my attackers do need the help. He should also look to keep the attackers back or push them out wide. When we have a free kick or corner our full backs should stay back in case of a counter attack.

Burdisso should use his height and strength to keep the striker(s) out of the game. I want him to keep with that attacker at all times not allowing him to break up space. If he tries to move Burdisso away and allow space to occur then he should temporarily leave him and try and trap him offside. Because Rafinha will be attacking he should act as help temporarily to prevent players cutting into the box. He should try and header every ball out of the box or kick it away. When he does kick it away he should kick it towards the wings so that we can create a counter attack. He should stay back when we’re attacking unless we have a corner or free kick. Mbiwa should use his experience and strength to keep potential runners into the box out. We do not want any space opened up. He should look to keep command of the defensive line making sure it’s not too high but not too deep. For Burdisso I would like him to be up in the opposition’s box for corners and free kicks. Mbiwa should stay just outside the box before the free kick/corner is taken and then run in round the back when it is.

Veloso will act as a wall in front of the defence. He should look to disrupt their attacking play and be in the oppositions face, and watch the advances of their playmaker who will break from midfield and make runs into the box. Veloso has the power to cope with the strength of their playmaker and also the pace to follow the runs made by him. He will break late and Veloso should watch the runs into the box and look to cope with the balls put into the box which are heading for this player. He should not break forward but hold his position and not get caught up field. I want him to control the style of the game we play. While acting as cover for our defence he should also separate the midfield from the defence by keeping hold of the ball and form attacks.

Rode will be our box-box midfielder. This means he will be linking our defence with our attack. He should take hold of the ball and then make runs forward and then supplying it to any of the front 4 ahead. When we’re attacking I want him to move up and stay in space. This will mean he will be an option for the others to pass to. He should also look to open up space for the other attacking players. When off the ball he should be a ball winning player by standing in front of their players and also covering up any spaces.Wilshere should use his pace and strength to make runs into the box and opening up space for Huntelaar. It should do the same for the wingers as well. He will look to supply the ball to the wingers as well. He must make runs all around the front of the defence going right, left and centre. This will create himself as an added option for his wingers and also open up space for the other central players to run into. This will also cause his defensive midfielder to move out of position and allow our wingers to use that space by running into the centre or the other 2 central midfielders to run into.

I want Jelavic to use his skill to keep the ball and then try and make runs into the box. This will cause the defender to follow him and opening up space for the full back to run into. He must use his pace to outrun the full back but also his quality control of the ball to dribble round him. He will use the full back when the space has opened up. He should work with Rafinha to create space in the opposition’s box. Use Rafinha out wide to bring their full back to him so Jelavic can run into the box with less challenge. If that doesn’t work then he should bring the full back to him and then use Rafinha. When we’re off the ball I want him to make runs back to help protect the defence by helping Anyukov cover their full back. They should both pressurise him to make a mistake or remove the ball from that area. Jelavic should also be cautious of the other midfielders. When defending a corner he should stay just outside the box so that he can start a counter attack when or if we win the ball back. I would like Ince to do the same as Jelavic in this case.

I would like Jelavic and Ince to intersect and change positions every now and then to cause their defenders to move out of position and open up space. This will also force them to constantly adapt to changing their defensive style.

Huntelaar must use his pace and skill to open up spaces for the wingers and central players to run into. He should make runs to the wing forcing the centre backs out wide. Therefore players like Rode, Wilshere and the wingers can cut into the centre and take chances by themselves. He should look to overpower their defenders with his pace and strength and height. He should constantly look to move into space to create himself as an option for the defence. He should also try and assist others in attacks. When we’re defending he should mark the player at the edge of the box. When we win the ball back he can run up to keep himself an option on the counter.

Rafael---------------------------------------------Cissokho
-------------------Capoue---------Pirlo-----------------------

-------------------------Wijnaldum----------------------------

Subs: Günter, Marin, Sarabia, Ronaldinho, Drogba

Captain: Pirlo
Vice Captain: Van Persie

Penalties: Pirlo
Freekicks: Van Persie

We'll be looking to press the opposition and win the ball back as far up the pitch as we can, in doing so we'll be playing a higher line.

Rafael and Cissokho, will be operating as our wing backs.

Pirlo will sit as the deep lying play maker, he'll be looking to get the ball from the defence and feed the attack via the wing backs or key passes to Wijnaldum/RVP.
Wijnaldum will be playing just in front of the 2, he'll create the space for Pirlo to work his magic. Drawing the opponents about, opening up holes in their defence.

Nani and Gaitan come back to play out wide / inside forwards.

Ronaldinho will come on for Wijnaldum to maintain possession of the football

If losing after 70 minutes:

Drogba will replace Wijnaldum
Sarabia will come on for Nani

Shrewsbury Town Tactics vs. Cambuur

--------------------------------Ba--------------------------

We are playing a Harrogate side today who like to pass the ball around, however our frequent pressing, hard tackling and combatitive nature intends to break up their play. We are well accustomed to this style of play now; and with confidence high we should be able to pull a result out at home.

Both are fast, and can track the runs of the dangerous Lewandowski in to the box, and whilst one (most often Evans) will stay tight to him, the other will pick up extra runners into the box. The defense will look to shift the ball towards our midfield in order to help us break at speed. The general cohesion in this settled defence means we can deal with any Harrogate attack.

Lampard and L Bender are both well honed midfielders adept at putting in a good defensive shift and closing down the opposition off of the ball. In defence, they will be looking to put pressure on the Harrogate players who like to pass the ball and cut off their supply by closing them down, and intercepting passes. However, they will also be the launchpads for our attack. Bender will spread the play in a 'quarterback'esque style, picking out the players in space and dictating the game whilst Lampard will look to use the ball and break from deep causing the Harrogate defence to always be on the back foot. He can use his long distance shooting to cause many a problem for their defence.

The danger for Harrogate not only comes from Lampard's runs from deep, and Bender's troublesome passes but also the quality we possess in the AM and Wing line. Rodriguez will be able to provide options for the midfield by darting out wide, and generally making imposing runs and thredding through passes to the winger and forward that Harrogate will find difficult to defend against. He is creative, and will be the link between defence and attack to ensure we are at threat and his presence and nature as a nuisance will mean if Harrogate commit to many people into an attack they will be exposed. Additionally, we have two very troublesome wingers. Both will be looking to get beyond their full back, and get onto the end of balls by Draxler/Bender and putting the ball into the box for Ba and any late arrivals into the box. Harrogate play attacking full backs, and the wingers should seek to exploit the space that this causes and as a consequence much of the play that we have should go through the out wide channels. If this proves unsuccessful, Bender has the game management skills to change the focus of our attacks. The wingers are the purest form of our direct play, as they use their skill, pace and trickery to either get to the byline or cut inside and create chances for other attacking players/players in attacking players. The beauty of our AM line is that all 3 are adept in all 3 posistions, and so should cause trouble for Harrogate by rotating posistions - meaning they are impossible to mark.

Ba is the complete forward.Leading from the front, he can snuff out a goal from anywhere and the direct form of football we have created which will result in the ball ending up in the box in dangerous situations suits his mentality perfectly. However, he also offers us the extra dimension of a physical presence which will force the Harrogate defence back and ensure they can't committ any players forward; whilst he is also very good at helping develop our link up play to create chances for both himself and others.

We are playing a direct, yet attacking style of football. We have the skill to deal with Harrogate passing the ball, whilst we can break forwards and attack at speed and with danger to mean they are never able to settle in the game - particularly exploiting the space left by their attacking full backs.

Captain: Lampard
Penalties: Lampard
Free Kicks/Corners: Rodriguez/Lampard

Subs:

Nastasic, Neustadter > Draxler. 3 men in CM, Neustadter as an Anchor Man to help absorb play. Counter attacking mentality.

If losing/drawing after 75 mins: Tadic > Shaqiri, Di Natale > Ba . Poacher in the box will put away any chances that come his way

Claudio Marchisio will be behind him, but equally important, bombing up when he can, but sitting back and playing the passing role to ease off pressure. Game Plan + Defence: We will start off in a 4-3-3 formation, relying on Lahm and Alaba to do what they do best, and really attack the flanks, with Juan Mata and El Shaarawy playing in a Milan-style front 3, drifting inside, allowing space for the FB's. Lahm especially, must look to get those fantastic crosses into the penalty are, where Balotelli can launch himself at the ball, or where El Shaarawy will be lurking. On the other side, Alaba is very fast, and is a terrific dribbler, so he must look to take on his man, and venture into the Cambuur half as much as possible, and look to play short 1-2's with the likes of Marchisio and Vidal. Both of these Fullbacks must come back at all times, to prevent Cambuur's pacy side from hurting us on the counter. Alongside them, Howedes and Papadopoulos are a strong a pairing as any. They are a real force to be reckoned with, and whilst Howedes isn't fastest, he is extremely good in the air, and a brilliant leader at the back, and he must position himself well at every set piece, marking the attacker that likes to make difficult runs to the back post. Papadopoulos on the other hand, will tackle the tall men, or those good in the air, as Papadopoulos leave's no victims in that territory. He must also use his long legs as an asset to take the ball away from the toes of attackers, but must stay clean. Both of our CB's are strictly told to keep their hands out of their way, and to control their tackles, and not go lunging in on forwards giving away cheap freekicks. Papadopoulos is also a great passer of the ball, so must not be afraid to step into midfield, and caress the ball all he likes, as long as risky passes/back passes are prevented. Neither of our defenders must be afraid to clear the ball long when in danger, but generally, we will look to pass the ball out of defence, like you see in all 4-3-3's.

Moving on from defence, we will be playing a lovely mix of midfielders in our central 3. Gundogan will be the dictator, pulling all the strings from central midfield. His excellent vision, and eye of the needle passes will help unlock Cambuur's defence, as we look to play in Mata and El Shaarawy, whilst Mata and El must drop back to receive short passes, before passing it on again. As we are playing with no recognised DM, Gundogan must be wary of stepping forward without protection, as we can get out done on the counter, but he will be looking to always get the ball rolling, and sometimes clip those 40 yard passes over the top for Balotelli, who is an expert in controlling, and holding the ball. Alongside him is our box-to-box midfield enforcer Artuto Vidal, who will start deep, but later go on to form an attacking triangle with Marchisio:

--------------Gundogan
----Marchisio---------Vidal

If we are lacking creativity in AM. However, Vidal must not neglect defensive duties, and his immense power and presence must combine with his pressing ability to always win the ball back when we lose it. Vidal offers great drive from midfield, and his powerful shots are an added bonus to us. His passing is always accurate, and he must look to supply Mata and El with sly passes and through balls, to try and find a way in behind Cambuur's defence. Ahead of him, Marchisio will be playing almost AM, but must also help out defensively, and when we are under pressure, we must revert to a 4-3-2-1:

----------Gundogan----Marchisio----Vidal
Mata-------------------------------------------El Shaarawy

As this will bring more stability to the midfield, and can contain Cambuur’s attacks down the centre of the pitch. However, Marchisio’s role is crucial to our team. He is the one that brings all the flair to the table and with superb passing skills and quick thinking ability, his main aim will be to slip in one of our 3 forwards. If there comes a time when the ball breaks to him, he must use his silky feet to slip away from defenders and find space, and he must not forget that he will almost always have support in Vidal.

Up ahead, Juan Mata and El Shaarawy start in the wide roles of a 4-3-3, with strict instructions to revert to a 4-2-3-1 when we need depth:

-----------Gundogan--------Vidal
--Juan Mata-----Marchisio-----El Shaarawy

This will make us more threatening in the wide areas, and give’s us natural width, if we need it. It will also conjure up more space for Marchisio to thrive off, where he has time to spot runs and passes, whilst also giving our FB’s a break from all that running up and down. However, if we need to attack Cambuur centrally, our 2 wide men must look to come back inside with Marchisio dropping back a notch, allowing our two forwards to confuse opposition defenders and create up a great understanding with the 3 CM’s. Juan Mata has brilliant dribbling skills, and very quick feet, and he must look to turn away from oppressors when he has the chance, before using his brilliant vision to find a Dagenham shirt. His brilliant versatility means we cover almost every position in the left-central area of the pitch, as Mata likes to come inside, but doesn’t mind going by the touchline and cutting inside on his favourite left foot. He must also look to get some brilliant crosses onto the heads of Balotelli, or the feet of El Shaarawy, but also should look to set up Marchisio/Vidal, who will no doubt be lurking just outside the box, for a volley or long shot. On the other side, Stephan El Shaarawy is a brilliant finisher, and he loves to take on his man, whilst he’s always reliable when it comes to making runs off the last man. His rapid pace must see him chase the ball every time it breaks loose, whilst his lethal runs will always be a danger to Cambuur. He is also a genius at winning penalties, and must look to trick his way into the box using a wide range of skills to frighten the defence. His brilliant link up play with Balotelli will see the 2 combining well, as El Shaarawy is fantastic at finding his man, whilst Balotelli’s passing is extremely good for a striker. If any chance falls to SES, he must take it, as his finishing is a brilliant asset, and he must always be a mirror to Juan Mata, when it comes to formation, as soon as we revert to a 4-3-2-1, he and Mata must go wide and stay wide, cutting in only when our two fullbacks are ready to run into space. Likewise, when we change to a 4-2-3-1, they will both automatically hug the touchline, cutting in only when they have support.

Up front, Mario Balotelli is having an excellent start to his Milan life, and part of that goes to his partnership with El Shaarawy, so the 2 of them must look to combine at every opportunity. He must also look to to finish off every chance that falls his way, and he is brilliant in the air, so must outmuscle the defenders, when it comes to taking crosses of Lahm and Mata. He will rely on his extreme Pace, positioning, Technical ability and Finishing Prowess and look to crumble the cambuur defence, with his brilliant knack of finding the back of the net

Subs:

If winning at 60mins: Lucas Leiva > Vidal, DM on for Vidal, offers more defensive stability:

--------Lucas----Gundogan
--------------Vidal

If losing at 60mins: Shaqiri > Marchsio, Mata goes central, Shaq out wide, real pace in both flanks

If drawing at 60mins: Muller > El Shaarawy, Mata goes Left, Muller right

Captain: David Luiz

Game Plan:
We aim to show our solidity at the back today after a run of poor performances defensively we need to sort this area out first. We will defend as a team, getting players back behind the ball and forcing Brentford to play infront of us, we won't jump out of position we will cover the spaces and force them side to side and backwards, making the tackles when best positioned. From here we use our wonderful passers to launch the counter attacks, with several players who can play a defence splitting pass for the wide men and Cavani. Obviously we don't want to defend all the time, we have the players to control the game and we will look to do so, not throwing too many bodies forward, dictating the game from the CMs and using our wingers to cause the problems.

Tactics:
Courtois will do what he always does, commanding his area and collecting crosses when he can, relieving pressure on our defence and settling things down. When space is open for a counter he should use his excellent distribution to send us forward quickly. Lightning off his line he is always ready for anyone who gets in behind.

We will play with a deep defensive line for the most part of our game, only stepping forward if we have the chance to trap the opposition in their half. We have a rigid back 4 and 5 infront of them, sticking to their position and defending as unit, forcing the opposition side to side and backwards, never leaving space between midfield and defence or behind the back 4.

FBs look to get to their wingers and not allow them to come inside, force them down the wings, particularly Azpi is a brilliant defender 1 v 1 and keep the LW completely isolated and out of the game. Push them wide as possible before getting a tackle in and never give them easy crossing chances, we won't allow them to play between them and the CBs with both FBs being excellent at covering those sorts of runs. We also feel that Brentfords wingers lack the work rate to track back so when attacking down either side we will look for the FB to push up in support of our wingers, working the space that our wingers can create and doubling up to get crosses in or play the wingers into the space behind.

The CBs will look to be strong up against the striker and not allow him to find space behind. Dante will be his imposing self, reading all the play and not allowing the striker to use the ball, forcing him to drop deeper to try and get into the game. Be strong and get infront of the striker when passes and crosses are coming in towards him and deal with everything. Wisdom looks to play as more of a sweeper, reacting quickly if anything gets beyond Dante to deal with it and clear the danger. He can also watch for the runs of midfielders, not allowing them any space around the box and marking them tightly when Brentford look to find those runs. Work together to deal with any threat. Dante is also a brilliant passer, he looks to free the attacking players into space for a quick counter whenever possible.

Luiz is the DM for today. He reads the game very well and is brilliant at getting to the ball ahead of his opponent. He will look to stay close to the main AM and stop the ball getting to him, not allowing him to find space between defence and midfield to work in. If the ball gets to him than he is straight there hounding him to win possession back and not allowing the AM into the game. He is also pushed forward today for his excellent passing ability, we want to be hitting them with clinical counters, Luiz can pick a defence splitting pass from any distance and any angle and should look to be releasing the forwards at every opportunity. In sustained spells of pressure he stays deeper in the midfield looking to keep the ball moving and stopping the opponents breaking out. Beñat looks to play alongside Luiz when defending, he doesn't step out of position to open space up for the opponents he instead puts the pressure on those close by, keeping the opponents moving sideways and backwards, being ready to get a tackle in at the best opportunity. He uses his fantastic passing ability to open the defence up, looking for the movement of the forwards. When we are on the ball he is the pace setter, not moving to far forward but keeping the ball moving around for the attacking players to do their work.

Ozil will look to find the spaces between the brentford midfield and defence to cause problems for the opposition, getting the ball in space and using his passing and movement to open them up and create chances. He can drop deep to get us moving forward or work his way to the wings and link up with wingers and FBs around the corners of the area to open things up. Make runs off Cavani to get in himself. The wingers will be the key, they have bags of pace and trickery and will be lethal on the counter. Kuba uses his electric pace to get down the right and get lots of crosses into the box for Cavani, or link with Azpi/Ozil to provide cut backs towards the edges of the area. We will use pace as an outlet to open things up. Hazard will do a similar job down the left but we give him more freedom to drift inside during attacks, using his change of pace and trickery to beat players, taking them out of the game and leaving space for us. On counters he is ready to make clever runs, starting on the outside of the winger and timing his runs to get inside them and between FB and CB to attack the opposition goal. From normal build up play he moves everywhere looking to have an influence on the attacks, linking up and driving at the opposition, opening space for a shot or more clever link up to get himself and team mates in on goal.

Cavani will make himself a nuisance to the defence, being very physical in his hold up play and dragging them with him to open space on the counter. His movement will be key on the counter, we want him going one way with the others making runs off him to drag players out, we will look to free Cavani 1 v 1 with a defender where he will easily have the beating to get in on goal. From normal build up he looks to always be on the move to allow the AMs space, looking to link up and then make runs behind the defence or out to the wings. Always attack crosses, and use his movement to drop off the defence when the cut backs come in, finding space and finishing chances clinically.

Tactics changes:
If at any time we fall behind we will push on, Sissoko for Wisdom at any time after 60', Luiz into CB. It allows us to push them right into their half, Beñat staying around the midpoint of their half or slightly deeper to provide an excellent passing option from deeper, Sissoko pushing on and using his pace and energy to drive us forward and open up spaces, he must press quickly if we lose the ball, as the front 4 will do in order to keep us in their half on the front foot. The trio behind Cavani work the spaces, using their driving runs and brilliant passing to create things, whilst Cavani occupies the CBs and makes the clever runs. Luiz will react quickly to intercept any balls forward as they look to break on us, getting to the ball before the opposition and putting us back on the attack. Dante waits behind ready to stop any high balls forward and stop any counters that get past Luiz, shepherding strikers out to the wings. Lamela replaces Kuba 70', more creative when moving inside. Icardi for Azpi 75', move alongside Cavani and look to find the spaces to get a goal. Lamela will have to operate much of the right side but Luiz will be there to come across and help out. All 3 help out defensively when we are under pressure, especially Ozil who makes it a midfield 3, the wingers can track the runs of the FBs but also be prepared to out pace them and use that space on the counter.

If Winning: Sissoko and Gonalons replace Wisdom and Beñat, Luiz back to Cb, more defensive presence in midfield now 75'. Bertrand for Ozil 80', Hazard AM ready to break forward when possible to kill the game.

If Drawing: We will be more adventurous in our play but keep things in a similar style, no throwing everyone forward. Lamela for Kuba 70'. Icardi for Ozil 75', Sissoko for Beñat 80', 4-4-2, strong CM duo who have the power and ability to control the game, with plenty of creativity in what can change into a front 4 on the attack. Icardi playing off Cavanis movement.
