I dunno what to think, on one hand he isn't scoring and being lazy but on the other hand he drags two players with him and opens up space for our other players.
But he only cost us 5 million so we can't really complain.
i won't go as far as to say we shouldn't have signed him, but so far he has not justified his fee let alone his wages.
time for that to change though.
i personally would sell him as soon as we got a couple of good strikers in. which will be summer i expect
On last season .. yes
on this season .. no
i hope he proves me wrong but im not holding my breath
What winds me up is when he walks off smiling after we lose sometimes
Losing should hurt like mad, it does for the fans
the grinning after missing a chance is the thing that winds me up.
dunno what was so funny about him missing an open goal and two one on ones v sunderland, but he seemed to find the humour in it all
The smiling after missing I understand, if I mess up something big time I stand there smiling like an idiot
well...we can't say we wasn't warned....seems he turned it on first time up....got the rewards of a long term deal...and his feet under the table...now it seems...he cldnt give a fack....
but...i his defense..he is that kinda player..if he's on it...he looks world class.....if he's not....he looks lazy and uninterested.....
Should of signed Berbatov instead
I love how Ade is always so cheery, his smile is so infectious. He could have been clattered by a two footed flying challenge and he'll still get to his feet (eventually) with a cheeky grin.
As a player I guess the jury's still out. I sit shouting at the television when I see him standing around doing nothing or getting caught offside, but then a few minutes later he holds the ball up brilliantly or occupies a defender allowing a player in to score. I think he does more for the team than is first apparent, and am putting his lack of goals down to bad luck more than error. I don't know if it can continue to be bad luck much longer though
He's not lazy at all... I don't know why people always say that. I've been to every PL home game and he does a lot more than people think. He's constantly running, pulling defenders out of position, tracking back and chases balls.
The only real criticism I have is that he's managed to lose his first touch!
Please keep in mind he had 0 pre season training, then he was injured and didn't really start full training till October.
i thought last season he was top notch for us - a big improvement on Crouch & Pav, but like Chronic at the moment, i'm getting a bit fed up with him......

He was missing those kind of chances on a regular basis last season, difference was we had a more creative MF who supplied him with the chances to redeem himself. Now we aren't creating as many chances his lack of clinical finishing is being exposed. Add that to his cant-be-bothered attitude and you've got yourself a pain in the arris.

So thats why your always smiling
I hated the way Berbatov sulked to bring about his move but between the two he's far the better striker for me.
Would he have missed those one on ones with the keeper v Sunderland?......I dont think so.
I think we got what looked like a great deal with Ade. God knows why hes so fackin rubbish lately. Might be a case that he has to be the number 1 striker and when hes not his nose is out of joint. I do know this though, Defoe played a hell of a lot better when Ade wasnt playing.
Ade was fantastic for us last year but has failed to deliver this year - so far.
Given Berbatoss and Ade would've probably cost about the same in fee and wages then I would've preferred Berba every day of the week
I think Adebayor is a very popular player within the team. Everytime I see him, he's all jokes and seems to get along with everyone on a personal matter. Which is great for the team spirit, however he should get his head around that he's a professional and has a job to do.
I hope he comes back from the ACON and starts banging them in, it's never too late
I cant believe all the negativity around Ade. He's scored a couple of goals, he's been part of our good run of late, yet he's getting criticized.
I've had a fair amount of flack for my AVB comments, and the biggest ones are for when i nit pick at poor substitutions, and tactics towards the end of games, even though we have won - but the response i get is that we won, do who cares? Yet when it comes to Ade, it doesnt seem to matter that he's been part of our winning streak & posters want to nit pick that he's not racing around like Tevez on speed.
Finally, if he's as shi-it & lazy as posters are claiming, what is the big hoo ha about him going to the ACoN? Either you want him in the side or you dont. It just seems easier to moan about him at the moment.
So in response to the article, yes we should have signed him. £5m is an absolute bargain.
DEFINITELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

his accompanying wages aren't
or haven't been so far any way
Chronic
his accompanying wages aren't

His wages are paying for him to be part of our winning side at the moment. As such, i'm not sure how he's any different to most players, including those who have only been on the fringe (or injured) like Sigi, Parker etc
Defoe will have a dry patch, all strikers do, but i bet we wont put the wages he earns into question when it happens.
dont necessarily disagreeing, but he isn't pulling his weight in comparison to last season.
can anyone actually argue with that?
