Weare

I honestly never looked at it like that. There are very few clubs that would keep the fan base we have after that period of time. Maybe only Liverpool, Utd and Arsenal?

Could be a lot worse Weare, you could follow Chelsea who have got loads of money, do win things and they're STILL a small club

posted on 11/1/13

It's sad Harry's accountant that a good thread about Totenham is posted and you have to mention Chelsea, that's small club mentality .

Excellent article Weare, and yes Spurs are still a big club. If Liverpool can live of the glory of last winning the title over 20 years ago, then Sprus can live of the glory of being one of the few teams to win a double, european trophies, several FA Cups, including back to back, even harder to do t,han winning back to back leagues, as so very few clubs have won back to back FA Cups in the past 120 years.

Our club is one of the the top half a dozen in the country, and don`t let anybody tell you otherwise.

Arsenal were getting crowds as low as a little over 20,000 when they hit a slump late 50s up to the early 70s, and even had a crowd of a little over 4,000, during that period, there fans deserted in droves.

One of mty best days ever was not even at a game, it was the parade in Tottenham when we beat man city in 1981. over a million tottenham fans lining the streets of tottenham and partying all day and night

posted on 11/1/13

I dont want this to turn into a knocking other clubs article just letting people know how massive this famous club of ours is

posted on 11/1/13

Weare, it`s the Spurs board, you can promote our club as much as you like on here. Opposition supporters should not even be anywhere near this article. Feel free to praise as much as you want.

As you know I go back even further, and memories are brilliant of the good days, and even the not so good days, that is what is being a footie fans is all about surely. Recounting previous games and experiences.

so if im on here saying we should be spending some serious money now its because i know how big we really are and how huge we can become

-----

this is irrelevant unless you are saying size = money?

how much money is serious? and we just spend serious money on a brand new training ground.

how much money to people think we actually have? one look at the financial statements and i think you would all be surprised that it isn't actually that much.

don't forget that all these big signings we all wants also tend to command massive wages.

OK so how many back to back FA Cups have been won in the last 120 years, and how many back to back leagues have been won, Mr Knowall. Before dissing other posters posts, back it up with facts muppet.

Of course. We have a fine history of achievement and first, a history of excellent football and of great players playing for us, a huge and loyal fanbase and are one of the top 4 teams in one of the biggest leagues in the world. If that's not the definition of a 'big club' then what is? The likes of Utd & Real are mega global brands - not being as big as them doesn't mean you're not big.

Not only are we a big club, we're a big club that's going places - unlike other big clubs that trade off of past glories.

Neither have the world wide support we do and are both 2 club citys so of course have massive local support, How much support do you think tottenham would have if only 2 big clubs in london

spurs do have world wide support but not on the same level as the sky 4 - who were successful at the time the global market started watching the prem league all the time.
