Wenger putting in a bid
Wenger paying £20m
I bet Isco's agents are telling him he'll have no shortage of clubs looking at him in the summer, and he'll know which ones got in the Champions League.
Not looking like it'll be us at this rate
we need a forward. where would we play isco?
He said on here it's €21m. Goal.com is rubbish but they may have got the interview from another source.

Bargain
Agreed. He's the next Fabregas. Would be great for Arsenal but I'm unsure whether you'll try to sign him and whether he'd want to go there anyway.
I think he'll stay at Malaga for a few seasons yet.
20m for a short attacking centre mid?
The short attacking midfielders we have:
Wilshere (more potential)
Cazorla
Ramsey
Rosicky
What exactly is the point of spending 20m on a player who plays in our strongest position? it is stupid.
If we are to make a record signing i would want someone we actually need.
A tall attacking centre mid?
Maybe just not an attacking mid at all
Isco is better than Wilshere.
Wilshere's a great player but Arsenal fans overrate him so bad.
Isco is a better player but they play different positions anyway. Would be great in the same team, maybe Wilshere might fancy a move to Malaga?

Like Shaw and Hughes?
But Isco would be great for us. We need more creativity and ability on the ball.
Apart from Cazorla, we don't have genuine quality like we used to.
I honestly don't think Wilshere is overrated, what sets him apart is his attitude because he's such a leader even at 21.
Hughes is rated at 7m so it isn't really the same, plus Hughes could actually become a physical presence he is 6 foot 1 at 17 there is a chance of him growing a few extra inches.
If we were to make a record signing this window it would have to either be a striker or DM.
Or we could just continue getting over run in midfield due to a lack of strength.
I agree about his leadership and work ethic, but I do think he gets overrated because he's a technical English player in an average Arsenal side. Think he'll go on to become a fantastic player but people do talk about him like he's already one of the best. Would love him at United. Exactly what we need.

Physical presence? He's supposed to be a playmaker, right?
What does his height have to do with that?
We need more creativity/quality.
Height gives an advantage aerially it helps control the game in midfield and would help attacking and defending from set pieces.
Height doen't help control the game in the midfield. The only real advantage you gain is when the ball is in the air.
and when the ball is bobbling around in the air in midfield... as well as height making you effectively heavier therefore harder for players to knock off the ball or easier to knock people off the ball.
we are not getting isco or anyone for that matter
Isco can do better than Arsenal at this point of his career and i don't think Malaga would let another player go on the cheap again to Arsenal.
Besides, i suspect his advisers in concert with Malaga representatives are working frantically behind the scenes to negotiate a more significant buy-out clause
I agree TRC
However there's no harm in Arsenal matching the release fee and finding out for certain he wouldn't fancy a move to us.
