AVB's objective for the season was a top 3/4 finish, show positive signs for the future and a respectable shot at the cups.
He failed miserably at 2 and was half was to humiliating crash out's of the 2 cups we ended up winning.
-------------------------------------------------------------
If he failed so miserably, how comes you were still in the FA cup and CL when he got sacked?
Chelsea fans can keep denying it but AVB has to take credit for the team that won both cups. Di Mattoe was just a Manager by default who will be credited for the cups. But the truth of the matter is, all you Chelsea fans and football fans out there there know it knows too, that AVB has to take a lot of credit for the team too.
i miss the way harry used to call spurs fans idiots
Doovde
You called us a joke for changing manager's all the time, im pointing out since 2003 Spurs haven't been much better, infact their is owners around Europe who makes Roman look like the Arsenal board, Morratti for example.
Hugo, he did but that doesn't mean he had anything to do with what went on after he left. The same way all off our double winning squad bar Zhirkov spent 8 months under Scolari's management, does that mean the Brazilian deserves credit? Does Rijkaard deserve credit for Pep's Barca success (especially the early bit as most of the squad played under him)? Or Houllier for Liverpool 2005?
As i said AVB deserves credit for getting us out of the group stage last season, but that is as far as it goes.
All these Chelsea fans are completely clueless. They literally have not got a clue about anything related to football. All they see is Russian oil money, fortunes spent on new players and constant change in teh club.
Then wonder why they're in decline
I said your club was a joke because you expect instant success with every manager. When it doesn't work out, you blame the previous manager.
That is the joke, my friend.
i miss the way harry used to call spurs fans idiots
You're proving him right daily
Doovde and Hugo
We lost 3-1 in Naples in the CL, could have been 6. We were in a rut, showing no signs of turning it round any time soon, let alone in the second leg.
As for the FA Cup, we were lucky not to go out, considering the rut we were in i would say their was a high chance we would have crashed out at St Andrews if AVB didn't go.
The funny thing was those cup flops would have been forgiven if he was doing his minimum requirement in the league, all he had to do was bite the bullet for one season and he would have had a job with huge funds and backing for years.
Doovde
Out of interest what is your opinion on Massimo Morratti? the man who sacked Mancini after 3 titles on the trot?
When are we blaming the previous manager? some of you have came on here trying to credit AVB for what happened in Munich, when he had nothing to do with it.
What's done is done. He's with us now, and we're one point behind your lot.
Just shows it wasn't the manager, considering the money he had to spend with your club and what he has to work with at Spurs, he's doing a great job
He wont know who Moratti is. He's gna have to google him.
AVB is carp, nothing to do with Chelsea players not giving him a chance, it's all AVB's fault.
When are we blaming the previous manager? some of you have came on here trying to credit AVB for what happened in Munich, when he had nothing to do with it.

Not once did I ask your lot to give AVB credit for the CL win.
Out of interest what is your opinion on Massimo Morratti? the man who sacked Mancini after 3 titles on the trot?
Don't know, don't care. Mancini isn't our manager, I don't follow Italian football, and their whole league is facked with corruption, fixing, etc... So....
Can't help but laugh at the spurs fans, they sacked there most successful manager in years and now claim the manager who couldn't beat him last year with a club he was doing supposedly so well at is some sort of genius, whilst his assistant went onto beat Redknap out of sight in their biggest game of the year, and claim we know nothing about football?
Doovde we see success, we understand it, it is easy to understand when you have experienced. it.
Kings Road, Guardiola revamped the Barca team. He let go the likes of Ronaldinho, Deco and Eto'o. The Barca team now is a world class team, arguably one of the greatest football sides in the history of the game. So the Pep analogy is completely different.
Scholari was ruthlessly sacked after a run of bad results, yes he deserves credit for that team as Gus only too over for a few months. See this is the thing, I genuinely believe there are massive egos at the club who will only perform for the Manager if they feel right. The same happened with Scholari as what happened to AVB. You may not like this, but it is the truth.
And as for your owner. Until he gives a Manager some serious time to build a team and play football as a gelled unit, you will always be chopping and changing.
I didn't personally sack Redknapp, did I
Mug.
full back killer, They could have meet half way, but to suggest AVB was innocent with everything that went on behind the scenes is laughable.
Doovde, does that mean he did a terrible job last season with us? as he was responsible for us finishing behind two london rivals who's squad's cost less and a team that could even go down this year.
I don't really care. He's our manager and doing a great job
But it's riduclous for you fans blaming him "setting Chelsea back 3 years", what complete nonsense
Hugo, Scolari and AVB didn't help themself's. The issue must have been more than just man management, Rafa is not known for his arm around the shoulder approach but is apparently pretty popular at the training ground from what i have heard.
Please, are you seriously telling me Scolari had anything to do with what Hiddink and Carlo went on to achieve in the corresponding year and a half?

do you read what you said?
you bigged up redknapp as our most successful manager (LOL), and then had a go at us for getting rid... despite him being the man in charge when we got thumped in the semi final, in the game you refer to.
basically you have made yourself look like a t111t

No one is saying AVB is a genius. All we're saying is that he ain't a joke like Chelsea fans make him out to be. The points i've been illustrating are that AVB deserves credit for the Chelsea team success last season. As if Di Matteo was the man responsible, why was he so ruthlessly sacked then?
As for Harry, he got sacked for non footballing reasons. No one knows the full story behind the whole saga, but at least most of us are able to credit Harry for his work at Spurs, unlike Chelsea fans who just cannot admit that former Managers did actually do a good job but instead give the glory to a temporary Manager.

To be fair, it was on the cards from kick off s Drogba was up for it, you never done well against him, must be a North London thing
"unlike Chelsea fans who just cannot admit that former Managers did actually do a good job but instead give the glory to a temporary Manager."
You lot say Ramos done a crap job at Spurs, despite the fact he beat a Chelsea side at their peak to win your only cup since the turn of the 00's.
