...says the bloke whose town is famous for the exploits of Doncaster's Robin Hood.

How's that super-duper new 50,000 seater stadium working out for you..? Did it get further than a badly coloured-in sketch?

Doncaster's Robin Hood.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok go on then 666, how is Robin Hood from Doncaster then and i will reply to your answer to show how you are wrong as already know what you are going to say?

Robin Hood didn't exist!

I saw Dr Hibbert give Homer an electric shock for saying he was 'real' during shock therapy.

I feel no sense of loss at his death. I was sad when I first saw the news but i dont really give it a thought. But that's not really the point. The point is you don't go around accusing people of killing and you don't use the a mans death to score points or wind people up.

I wouldn't be happy if Forest fans were winding you up over the death of someone connected to your club

It's where he was supposedly born, this outlaw who wore Lincoln green.

Or are you now going to explain how Lincoln is actually in Nottingham too..?

"as no one has ever heard of Derby"

Heard being the word.... Derby has the largest population of deaf people outside London. That includes GSE the Derby owners, no doubt

sutton:

he died of a heart attack. Heart attacks can be caused by a multitude of reasons, not least stress. Forest fans and the state of the club undoubtedly caused him stress.

You don't have to be Quincy, do you.

Whatever. You think some things are acceptable and I disagree. Not much else to say. Go back to banging on about Robin Hood.

The only trophy to grace the trophy cabinet (oh, hang on, do they have one?) at Derby since....... 1975

I'm guessing you mean Locksley not Lincoln if your going off the presumption that Robin Hood was Robin of Locksley. Yes Locksley was in Yorkshire, near Doncaster, which people try to argue against, but if we use that Logic then, then where should the Duke who lives at Chatsworth as every other Duke who has gone by that name should be living then, which shows you that just because of your title doesn't necessarily mean where your from?

Hopefully you know a bit about your own history to know the title of the duke who lives at Chatsworth

Plus all of the earliest writings and folk law which came before them refer to Robin as being from Nottingham and lived in Sherwood Forest as Sherwood Forest used to come all the way up to the recreation ground back in the 12th Century.

There you go a handy guide to Robin Hood for you Derby fans, lets hope at least you know a tiny bit about your own history and know the title of the Duke who lives at Chatsworth.

SBS - he famously wore Lincoln green, but thanks for sharing your vast knowledge on the subject.

Any road, I'm not getting involved in this, as I'm a Derby fan from Nottingham, and you're a Forest fan named after a Southampton player.

Confusing, eh?

Nottingham "Castle"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah it isn't a castle anymore. used to be the largest one in europe before Oliver Cromwell blew it up after the Civil war as he knew the significance of it if rebels took the castle as he knew how impenetrable it was. The manor which it is now now was built in the 18th Century, but there is some more history again for you again. Shame Derby has none

No worries botherer just ask if want to know anything else about Nottingham. Don't know much about Derby though as there isn't much history and that isn't even a joke.

SBS
Who's on about Locksley, you muppet.
Doncaster airport is called Robin Hood airport.
I wonder why?
According to the myth which the entire tourist economy of Nothinghamshite is based on Robin didn't live in Nottingham so why claim him?

SBS.. they have piece of wasteland that's been untouched for the last 10 years ... well maybe a few drug dealers have been in there with the lilac buddleja bushes, but it is an iconic landmark

Read above Rameses then come back to me as that should answer your question.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

that is literally their only landmark.

I mean Derby is only a city because they have a cathedral, it would only be classed as a town if they didn't have one as they can't even live up to having a city status on its own. Small town Derby is literally!

posted on 14/1/13

To be fair, it's not even a cathedral really, just a slightly-more-fancy church

We're quite rightly Derby COUNTY, of Derbyshire, and you're Nottingham Forest, of Nottinghamshire, whereas Nottinghamshire County are of Nottingham.. it's little wonder you have no f'king clue where Robin was from, is it?

I mentioned on here some time ago that Nottingham Castle was voted, "World's Most Disappointing Tourist Attraction" for the 50th year running.
Unsurprisingly it won again this year.
No matter what you come up with SBS it is a massive let down.
