Surely you're no taking in by Newspaper Headlines
thats why i put if. As in if it happens.
I know...ease up, you're so serious and pedantic sometimes
no tcd. You said on another thread , as a fact, that whyte had talked of a 'warchest'. I merely pointed out whyte had NEVER mentioned the word 'warchest' in relation to allys budget. You insisted he had. I asked you for a quote, which YOU couldnt give me. You had a shot at it, god loves a trier, but ultimately you failed.
Theres the difference.
No I didn't...I said McCann hadn't.
The quote which you sought was about the £5m
Figures that were given to the old Rangers board by the takeover group.
Then you got all pedantic again, yet here you are clutching onto a Newspaper headline. The same newspaper that gave us " war chest "
Ironic or what
even a quote for 5m from whyte would do tcd
"I want to know what Ally's hopes and aspirations are for the team and what he feels he needs for next season," Whyte said. "I've said, and it has been quite widely reported, that we'll spend £25m over five years on the playing squad."

In fitba parlance, thats him saying he's got a warchest.
Oh dear, Mr. Elite
He won't like this, Hector
so no mention of a warchest or 5m a season?
No more letting players run down their contract. If they dont want to sign a new deal, sell them
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is a ridiculous statement That defies the whole point of a player signing a contract.
If a player signs for 4 years and wants to play at the club for the full 4 years before moving on then how can you justify forcing them out with a year left because they don't want to stay for another 4 years??
Take yer medicine
25 divided by 5 = ?
Add to that..." we'll spend way over what we have budgeted for " = Bumping his gums
there was a 1.3 million bid rejected for bougherra
it was nowhere near 2.6m as reported by some of the scottish press(a figure they plucked from a french website)
if we can get 2 million then let him go
tcd - it might be 10 , 5, 5, then 2yrs at 2.5m for all we know. As i said, whyte hasnt mentioned that this years budget is 5m or that theres a warchest.
Its all media speculation. Read the quotes, not the headlines. Im not even going to ask you to provide the quotes anymore, as you clearly cant.
Pollocks - wouldnt surprise me. 3m would be a cracking price, but your figure sounds more realistic.
I'm I wrong in thinking that Bougherra is eligible to buy out the last year of his contract???
That can only amount to a million quid at most????
Shh,if the Qatari's want tae splash the cash then let them, they've got enough of it.Maybe if we play hardball they'll fling in a coupla million worth of bribes too
tcd - NOW you want to talk about my OP!
'take yer medicine' !!
I'm I wrong in thinking that Bougherra is eligible to buy out the last year of his contract???
---------------
Bougherra was quoted in a newspaper(can't remember which one) saying he wouldn't do that.
If he could and would then he'd have done it by now or we'd have taken the 1st offer for him that was over a years salary..........maybe he's negotiated a % of the transfer fee??
Pearsonification
That certainly wasn't a ridiculous statement by Elite.......it's exactly what I want my team to do and it makes perfect business sense.
The player has the right not to go and can stay and earn his money but players aren't shy in trying to force through a move when it suits them so I want my club to cash in when a player has a decent value......if he's not willing to extend his contract.
thanks abnor. Couldnt quite believe pearson said it was ridiculous. Hes normally one of the sensible bhoys!
Bougherra was quoted in a newspaper(can't remember which one) saying he wouldn't do that.
quoted in a french rag saying he would, quoted in a uk rag saying he wouldnt
The OP is all over the place...He has already flummoxed from hoping you get £3m for Boogy, to agreeing with another poster that that figure is probably wrong
He's hopeless with numbers
The figure is wrong this Quatari lot are minted. More like £5 million
tcd - of course i would hope its 3m, as it would be to the benefit of rangers. Pretty obvious. I even stated in my OP that 3m, and i quote 'would be a remarkable amount to get for him'.
So when pollocks said it would be less, i agreed a lesser figure would be more realistic, less remarkable.
Are you really that stupid?
