I think it's very unlikely we'll sign another defensive midfielder, I don't think we'll be loaning out Livermore.
Diame to me hasn't had a good game since west ham beat Chelsea - he was class then but has been gash since.

Ahahahahahahaha
This is a joke right? How many minutes has he been on the pitch since the chelsea game?
Jan could slip into the dm role from what ive seen of him<ok.

Never considered that. He's versatile and has good technique, but to me he's our best defender. Anyone know how far away from 100% fitness Parker is? If we could get him back playing 90 mins now it'd be like a new signing in the nick of time.
but to me he's our best defender

Exactly, we shouldn't be playing our best centre back out of position, not now we have Parker and BAE back.
We don't need anymore midfielders,we have an abundance, waste of money.
I agree we don't need either. We need a creative playmaker but not players like Diame and M'Vila.
I'm pretty sure Jan can play DM. He played there for Ajax a few times didn't he?
But he's probably one of the first names on the team sheet at CB.
Hopefully this will get THudd and Livermore upping their games and try and push for a place
I just don't rate Hudd at all. He's another player whose average at best, in big games he always looks lost. I'm just happy we have Parker, I think he will do a great job in place of Sandro.

Kent curses after plucking up the courage to reply to Ace Face, but using the wrong word.
Hudd doesn't stamp himself on games enough - and he's generally not had huge amounts of game time over the years. Eventually he'll have to leave to establish himself as I feel he'll always be a squad player at Spurs. Great passing & shooting technique though. Livermore I honestly don't rate at all, not for the level we're aiming to compete at.
I'd rather we pushed through the Holtby deal and got Parker back in the starting 11 than put anymore MF's on the wage bill.
Ace Face I agree totally about pushing for the Holtby deal to be completed, than sign those 2.
With regards to Livermore, I actually like him and believe with more game time he'll get better. Hudd has had more game time than Livermore and just hasn't produced the goods. He's a squad player at most for me. If I'm gonna be perfectly honest, once we get Holtby and a top creative playmaker on board, I'd flog Hudd. I think he'd probably flourish with the likes of Stoke City, I just don't think he's good enough for Spurs.

Out of interest, what would you say were our biggest games of the 2009/10 season, and up until Christmas 2010/11 when Hudd got injured?
I don't want Vert in CM either...we are a CB down (Kaboul) already, and only have 4 fit ones. Playing 3 every match is crazy
Diame is a great player imo and would be a solid squad player especially as our midfielders seem to want to get injured at the moment...
He can pop up with a goal, however I dont want him to turn out like Palacios (a cheaper version of course)
HRH yes I know what your point is, Hudd featured in our big wins such as the Wigan 9-1 and Man City 3-0. He's had the occasional decent game but has not been consistent and strong enough to be in a regular first teamer for me. I can say Jenas has featured in big games but that doesn't mean he can cut it as a Spurs first teamer
I read a few days ago some posters suggesting Vert as a DCM, but i just dont know where all this has come from. Vert was a good buy, he is a very capable CB, not such a good LB, and if his tracking back as a LB is anything to go by, he would make an awful DCM.
As i say, he's a good buy at CB but lets not start thinking he's Ruud Gullit all of a sudden.
As for Diame, would love to steal him off West Ham for £3.5m, if only just to sell him on for at least double that amount at a later date.
You said he looks lost in big games. I didn't even mean the two you mention. In 2009/10 the huge games were the big 3 v Arsenal, Chelsea and City away. We won them all and Hudd was integral (and no Jenas in sight).
Up until his injury in 2010/11 it was the CL games. He played in every home one from qualifier to group, where we smashed everyone we played. He played once away I think, at Inter, when we had 10 men and nearly snatched something
You must be smoking something if you think Livermore will be better. He isn't that young - about 23 - and hasn't managed to stamp his authority at any of ghe several Championship clubs he's been at
HRH,
I think Livermore is okay to be fair. Not brilliant, but i think he does a fair job & is definitely Premiership standard.
He's ok. Nothing outstanding but will probably end up a Sidwell. He's never going to be better than Huddlestone has been for us pre-injury, he simply doesn't have the tools
HRH,
I'm certainly happy for him to be in the squad now Sandro is out though.
