Welbeck rarely gets to play upfront for us. In his last 5 Eng apps though he's scored in 4 of them.
Sturridge------Rooney----------Welbeck
That front 3 could be a handful for any team.

This is the correct answer.

Walcott is better than both Sturridge and Welbeck.
What a YAWN article... -10* for originality and thought. OP sucks fat cóck
Apology accepted btw.
We all make mistakes.
Walcott This is a question of ability, not who can run and fall over fastest!!!

The OP is wrong!!
Sturridge failed at Man City because he was a youth team player trying to establish himself in the first team. After only a handful of first team appearances and some of those from the bench, he started acting like a prima donna demanding ridiculous wages for a player of his age and first team experience so he was sold to Chelsea. Admittedly he has become a good player but at that time he was a kid trying to prove himself and he just got too greedy. It was a case of having better and more proven players at that time too and not a "preference for stardom strikers" Nobody at 17 or 18 walks into a premier league team ahead of the established strikers and starts demanding the same wages as the likes of Robinho!!!
Mancini really talks a load of s.hit.
I think when on form Silva's better then Mata, but Mata just has that effiency and consistency that makes him much more useful and effective. Silva's record this season is like 4 goals and 5 assists or something like that, compared with Mata's 13 goals and 22 assists I think.
-----------------------------
Like Silva's last season Mata is just having that great 2nd season syndrome, which makes me excited to see Santi next year! I think Silva is still superior to Mata
AU please stop wumming.
Sturridge is crap.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not, it was a great performance.
Saint do you want to become a Sturridge defender with me? We could go far.
Sturridge. He is looking to be a great buy.
Sturridge was unlucky to be at clubs who have a preference for stardom strikers therefore not getting a chance
Explain please or do you just speak out of ignorance?
I must admit that I've never rated Sturridge nor Welbeck, but if Sturridge carries on as he started for Liverpool the will be no comparison between the two and they might have a really good striker in their hands.
Now spare a thought for Chelsea who sold Sturridge and have Ba& Torres as strikers.

When they were first breaking through, I thought Sturridge was better. Last year I would say Welbeck. This year, with RVP coming in, Welbeck hardly played in attack. Sturridge I think has the advantage here in developing into a better striker and finisher. Welbeck has a better all round game (minus finishing and dribbling isn't as good as Sturridge), but as both are young and developing, only one is getting his chance at that.
I, as a United fan, think that if we sold Welbeck, he'd end up at another top club after a few years because if he does get the first team opportunities he would be a top player.

Welbeck overall.
Sturridge is a better goalscorer right now though. He's more predatory.
I'd like to see Sturridge start for England against Brazil because he's scoring goals and deserves a go as England's no.9, however, when you watch Welbeck play every week you do get to see that he's an excellent player with a very bright future and long term the position is his to lose.
