the old 606 was rife with biggoted people.. Some of them swore at each other in their own native tongue.. It ruined it to an extent..
Theres alot of rivarly between england and australia.. But usually we can both congratulate each other after a win.

The old 606 was really bad from both sides. Over here if there is any sign the mods just ban them. You have that one Indian poster who creates numerous accounts just to wum racially at Pak fans who is the exception but predominately the majority get on with banter.

Theres idiots where ever you go..I'd rather just discuss the cricket. SA are far and away the best team at the moment.. Thats with having no spinner of note in the team.. When you have Steyn and Philander in the team you dont need a spinner.. I have reservations on Morkel.Even they have Kallis not a bad 4 seamer to say the least..

SA are almost like the great West Indian sides when it comes to pace bowling. I do agree with Morkel but they have De Lange and Klienvielt in the wing to replace Morkal.

Their batting is immense and now that AB Devillers is performing with both bat and gloves makes them more dangerous.

which other countries are you referring to Rabbit?

True, they will have huge problems replacing Kallis when he goes.. Someone to bowl 15 overs a day.. And score the runs.. thats when a good spinner will be needed. Otherwise teams will attack the spinner..And SA will only have the 3 seamers and alot of hard work. They could keep Devilliers at 6 and play another bowler. But not the SA way...
when i say hard work. sure they will bowl teams out with the seamers they have,, But whe you have 3 seamers and a teams gett a big partnership early on.. Then the opposition are looking at 400+.. kallis is a vital cog in their South Africans armour.
Take Shane Watson. The aussies will need him badly for the bowling he offers. Other wise they will go in with 3 seamers and a poor spinner,, and will mean loads of overs for main 3 bowlers.

Rabbitohs

I love the Ashes my oldman got me into cricket at a early age, I also have some good mates from Australia, so it has always been good banter with me.
Sad the some Idiots go that step to far.

Anyway can't wait till the Ashes starts

I can't wait for the test matches in March .
I see Australia are playing a 4 match test series in India. should be an interesting series that..No idea who'll win..

dont agree with you there. kallis is irreplaceble, but SA have immense talent. they just get world class players from no where. look at duplesis. he performed in Australia, where even most experianced batsmen struggle.

SA will hv no problems after kallis retires, simply because they have other talent sitting down there. True his boots will be hard to fill, like it would be hard to find that type of allrounder, but they will surely find a gd batsman.

This SA team will stay in the no.1ranking for years to come. no team looks like even beating them at home.

posted on 5/2/13

Oh nonsense..SA will not stay at number all the time. It will change hands from time to time. Unfortuantly India wont be one of the teams the number one will ever go back to again.. If Pakistan can sort their batting they even have a chance of getting to number one..Like i say,The number one spot will change hands over the next few years and should be good viewing..

posted on 5/2/13

so england who do you reckon will be beat SA? England couldnt do it in their own home conditions, and same goes with Australia. You have to be day dreaming if you think it will be easy to take the no.1 spot from SA.

There is no team that can beat SA on current record.

posted on 5/2/13

and with respect to pakistan sorting their batting, it doesnt take a week to sort their batting issues. Subcontinent teams just cant bat away from home. and here we are talking about the worlds best pace attack.

posted on 5/2/13

England werent that far off. Neither was Australia.. England prepared the wrong wickets..we should have made the wicket more spinner friendly. Swann ws easily handled by SA.. Unlike India where he had the indians in knots.

posted on 5/2/13

Just because you say subcontinent teams cant bat away from home, Doesnt mean they cant improve? a test series between Pakistan and India right now, Pakistan would win. India have no bowlers.Anyway most test wickets are flat.on a good day any batting team can get in and score big runs..

England weren't far off? Piffle, you lost 2-0 in a 3 match series and only Pieterson's heroics stopped the whitewash.

Aus should've been 2-0 going into the final test and they ended up losing the series 1-0, much closer than the England series.

posted on 5/2/13

look at the results we didnt get thrashed.. they were closer results.
Australia will get whats coming to them in July.

Reading this article all I can say is, 'Look who is talking.'

And as for the conversation I don't remember one single phase ever since south africa has got back into the cricket sáene that they have not been a great force in cricket infact theres not been a single world cup where they have not been favorites, its just been there choking ability that has kept them as under achievers. Lets not forget they even lost to srilanka at home which a way weaker team on paper, we will have to wait for.some time to know if they have improved with that area or not.

hmm common 2-0 in all respect is a thrashing. you took the game to the 5th day, but do you also remember how your team collapsed.

In that series you were thrashed. Australia vs SA was way closer, and I did feel that aus could hv won it or atleast drawn the series.

Yes england i agree that subcontinent teams can improve but not with the work ethics they have. I dont remember when last an indian, srilankan or pakistani team played 3 warm up matches? You cannot improve in just playing one warmup match.

With most test wickets being flat? define flat for me. Because I think most subcontinent pitches have been of good standard, and they had alot for the bowlers.
Its actually pitches outside subcontinent, like the ones we saw australia that were very flat, and allowed australia to score like 500 runs in one day.

and my argument is nothing to do with india. Im just saying from what I can see. I actually think india stand no chance of beating the top 5 teams in test cricket away or at home.

rabittoh aussies are coming to india, who do you reckon will win?

posted on 6/2/13

your team? haha i bet Viru is more English than me. but thats a side issue.
mentioning India/Aus... India have a better chance in this series..Seam bowlers dont do to well in indian conditions (apart from Anderson) And Australia dont have the spinners England have.. Should be a very high scoring series and rather boring..
