I think we did the right thing letting him go, but I'm beginning to think we missed a trick signing him in January, there may well be competition for his signature come the summer.
Good morning Denny. From what I saw in the Championship Zaha has the far better workrate and potential but that's all it is at the moment, potential.
Ince is more the finished product but sometimes seems lazy and a bit over-confident. He has a lethal left foot, is quick and can dribble. I watched him come through in Liverpool's youth teams and surprisingly, at least for me, he started off in central midfield so he does have a bit of tackling ability and ability to pick a pass. He's also dangerous with set-pieces.
I was very surprised that you didn't get Ince in January. i thought it would be a deal done in the first few days to be honest.
As for the debate itself i have only seen a few clips of zaha on SSN so i cant really compare the two.
Well stats don't tell you everything, and especially just a one off performance. However, it seems there isn't a massive difference between the two players.
The big difference from our point of view is that we could get Ince on a free in the summer, when his contract expires. This compared to the £15m paid for Zaha would be a great deal.
We need to see if it was a good idea to leave him untill the summer, and if we can keep away other clubs.
So Ince is available on a free in the Summer?? Didnt know that. If that is the case and he will come to us then right to wait i suppose but lets hope Champions League qualifiers Spurs dont go knocking.
I don't think he is on a free in the summer, Blackpool have the option to extend his contract. As per usual Blacpool were trying to get us paying over the odds and we quite rightly told them to do one. If he keeps improving though we may end up regretting that decision.
Ince won't be free. 18 months still on his contract. Although a year should be short enough to keep his fee down.
"The England Under 21 winger's contract at Bloomfield Road is up at the end of the season and an FA tribunal would have to set the fee."

Let's get him on the cheap in the summer.
Ince in the summer, another left back and centre half and we might just be set for a decent squad for next season.
I feel we need more than just Ince in the summer to fill up our wide positions. I wouldn't be too upset if we sold Downing, and went out and spent a bit on an experienced creative winger.

In the same way sturridge went to Chelsea
The only problem with us not getting Ince last month is that now we have "Keep running in a blind Alley" Downing wasting possession on the right side.

Isnt that creative winger Coutinho. Surely it'll be a 1st choice front 3 of Cout, Sturridge & Suarez
Yeah Coutinho can play and will probably play outwide, however I feel that Sterling, Ince and Coutinho aren't good enough.
We need experience in there, and I would want to see us spent some money on a first team player for now. Arsenal signed Cazorla for a fee under £15m, and I think we need to look for a similar player in age, experience and price.

Ince wants LFC...there wont be any other clubs.
Its just Blackpool that needs to pull their finger out
I know Cazorla is a far fetched exampla, but we need to aim to bring in a £15m to £22m attacking winger in the summer. Someone who can link up with Suarez and Sturridge now, instead of waiting on a Coutinho, Sterling or Ince to mature.
Cazorla doesn't play on the wing for Arsenal.
I actually dont think Ince or Sterling are too far away. Cant say much about Cout since he hasnt played for us but i suppose we'll have to wait and see what the next 3 months brings and how Sterling and Cout progress in the side. Cout isnt exactly 17 so has a fair bit of experience but may just need time adjusting to the PL. we'll know where we are with him come end of the season.
I know Cazorla doesn't usually play on the wing, but floats across the pitch. He can play on the wing or in the middle, which is the kind of player perfect for our system.
He was a bad example anyway. Someone like a Belhanda or Valbuena, would be the player I would like us to target.
I think Hatem Ben-Arfa would be a good edition, with Carroll as part of the deal, also Son Hueng-min is another exciting footballer.
I do really like Ben Arfa, but his injuries are something that would keep me away from signing him.
Ince is a good player but I think we can all agree that during the January window he was not worth the money being demanded by Blackpool. He may be worth it by the summer and if so then so be it. IOt's also possible he could get a bad injury or dip in form forcing Blackpool to accept less.
I can't understand anyone saying we could have missed a trick with him this January. He's deffo not worth more than our reported offer at this time. If we signed him for 8.5 million or so we would have rival fans and FSG haters castigating the club for overpaying but now that we would not go to such extents apparently its a trick we missed. There's no satisfying some people.
