Coventry not happy, only 5 months into a 3 year contract...although it's not a done deal yet...Robins may decide to go home and think about it then get pursuaded to stay on at City...

Nothing would surprise me about this ..

Sunday's gate Jacko...
20 thou !

I know it's 10 quid,
but Will Wigan bring 4,500 ?
even if they do, We'll have to have 15,500 takers !

still,
I hope you're right
I'll go for a more modest 18,600.

Well played, terriers.

You`ve probably done us a favour in the grand scheme of things and we can now concentrate on getting promotion.

Best of luck against Wigan on Sunday and for the rest of the season

Just got in and Lills ~ Quite remarkable mate .. .. Were the big FAT Fooker not to sing then we know the team under your infectious supervision is in safe hands .. ..

This is a Fabulous Tonic for everyone and tho it sounds from reports it was a dull watch it almost feels like Gerry's Team Versus Leeds Utd all over again .. I AM LUVVING IT .. JUST LUVVING IT ..

Perfect timing too ~ and surely adds a few extra Aces into Deans (Management Offer to Robins) hands ..

By de way I've obviously missed why Smithies wasn't playing - a quick answer anyone .. ?

family bereavement boots.. that why smithies wasnt playing..
leicester kept missing the ball anyway..
nugent is sh-te without woods..
knockeart is sh-te when he is isnt winning and konchesky played for england????????
not a great game by any stretch..
but as I said well before the game we seem to do ok in dull games without many chances...
cant fault the effort of the likes of clayton/arfield and the full backs did ok till really late on when they got a cross or two in..
lillis loves this club, he will be academy manager, whoever takes over as manager.. he is producing some decent lads through and is always ready on stand by should he get the call again..
Id have him as assistant if i was robbins but i expect he will bring a load of staff with him and the "run" such as it is might have a stutter whilst he gets settled..
alan lee was comical tonight, he is worth 10 quid just on his own..
scannel goal was a carbon copy of Ricky Villa... I think we "cheated at the free kick, think clayton moved the ball some distance to the right???? caught out kasper though!!!!!
There wasnt a single cross word between the players tonight even after their crap goal, thats a good sign..

Just finished watching the replay,
OK, nought-na-more.

This lone striker ploy is garbage.
Even more so when the bloke picked for the role isn't even fit !
But.
No matter who gets the 'gig'..they are up against it on their own, and
Where was all the support darn the wings ?
The decoy runs,
The overlaps.
Scannell & Arfield work hard but there is a hell of a delay getting forward once that ball gets pushed through to the 'lone Ranger'.

Also,
This compression stuff for dead ball kicks ?
Is this the 'norm' ?
I wouldn't be paying money to watch that every week.

reflection,
Leicester weren't all that. 2nd in the league, How ?
Sheet league then.
Bennett, How is this guy.. he'd do every week for me.
Not overly impressed with Atkinson..has he more to offer ? or was that it .

Pleased we won,
But I didn't enjoy it as much as watching the Bantams beat Villa !
The 'Football' has to improve.

darn..
as long as the results improve itll do for me..
playing one up front is great if you support the ball and refrain from "always" lumping it forward..The better balls tonight were chipped into alan lee for him to hold or chest off... it just gives everyone a bit more chance to get up..
we simply did enough going "forward" tonight and worked hard behind to stop leicester for very long periods of the game..Its a very good place to start..

Ho Hum...
For the results to Improve, then surely the 'football' would have to improve ! Yes ?

'results' might do for you....
But paying...
to watch that on a regular basis.
Not for Me .

I also disagree about 'gives everyone a bit more chance to get up'.
Our midfield were slow in this respect as far as I'm concerned,
More effort required along with sharper thinking with it,
Lillis..or Robins.
Crack that whip .

Whip Crack Away Whip Crack Away Whip Crack Away ..

C'mon Darn don't be slow at getting up that wing and crossing the Town v Wigan Match Arti up .. Its gonna be a cracker m8 .. ..
And if Robbo don't sign for whatever reason just imagine pressure on Grambo Jones eh .. .. So much to conspiracy abarrt .. ..

It may have been a dour performance, but give me that and a win over flamboyance and a 1-6 scoreline every day.

Results bring confidence (and survival)...it isn't Lills' fault he's been landed with a team on the edge of the drop zone, am sure he would love to set us up to be more expansive, but needs must. The rewards for beating Leicester will pay the compo for Robins and put some extra into the loan fund.

We certainly look more of a team than we did under Grayson, where I was struggling to see what the game plan was.

We did loads of passing sideways and backwards, making Leicester run their legs off, something you see every week in the Prem. What we lacked was a pair of quality strikers, but we've lacked that all season.

Dour will do for me, for the time being...so we can have another season in the Championship and get through to a very lucrative FA Cup 1/4 final game...

So Very Well said Jacko .. Nicely sums up what many of us must be feeling today .. ..

Mark Lillis has so much of the true down to earth Shankly Manner & Passion about him .. and its infectious .. Lets look after him Dean .. No Repeat of that Gez Murphy did he go, or as was clearly the case .. Was He Pushed stuff .. ..

In fact it would be great P R and certainly go down well with the fans D if you were to come out with a Marks got a job here for life OR as long as he wants it.. De Fact is of course his recent Champ Sist Mngr stint may not have gone unnoticed by other clubs .. ..

Lillis has done a fantastic job. He has taken a side that had no confidence and no ideas and made them hard to beat. We got a decent draw against Leicester and then a fantastic win against Palace. Yes we were found out about against Derby but the way we performed against Cardiff showed that he didnt let the players heads drop. To go away to Leicester and win, ugly or not, is no mean feat. Man Utd are as good as they are as they just win, sometimes with flair, sometimes with luck and sometimes by grinding out in a dull game. Ultimately winning is what matters and Mark Lillis can come out from this caretaker spell as a winner and a big pat on the back from all of us.

What I most liked against Cardiff were the times we had the ball and players made themselves available, looking for the ball. Too many times we have passed towards a man not looking at the ball and then are shocked when their player takes the ball off him. This new structure seems to suit that style of play so I would like to see it stay with maybe a tweak upfront to help Vaughan out.
