His crosses are underated
I thought Cleverson as a combo was brilliant. I'd love to see it Saturday.
Also it looks like he's definately worked on his shooting.
I must have been watching a different match then because i thought Cleverly was painfully average and had an indifferent game.
I saw comments about Cleverley and Anderson and how they were rubbish and thought am I watching a different game? Both of them played well IMO, however I think Ando needs to work on the strength of his passes.
You do that alot TRC. Maybe try another streaming site?
I thought Anderson was better than Clevz
I actually think the football between Nani coming on and Readings goal was out of this world at times
I thought that both Ando and Clevs played well last night. Ando was slightly better, so I would go with:
Clevs - 7/10
Ando - 7.5/10
Neither of these two are ever going to be world class. However, they can give us a solid base and if you have the likes of Rooney, Kagawa, RVP etc. you don't necessarily need world class CMs.
Cleverley is a vastly underrated player who, into his late 20's, will be running games at the very highest level, provided he's in a good mix. He's ideally suited to play in a 2 man CM where both players attack and defend, or in a 3 with a holding player and another player with vision. Really is an excellent prospect who sufferes from "Carrick syndrome" where people aren't seeing the qualities he has until it's spoon fed to them by people who've sen them for a while eventually growing in numbers and gaining a louder voice if you will.
Ironically, he and Wilshere would flourish with a player behind them, but we just don't have the quality holding player with a few years on them to add experience to a CM 3 for England that would make them a really excellent prospect for a major championship.
If Sergio Busquets was Simon Bakersfield, we'd really have a wonderful CM at international level potentially for Rio and Russia.
Cleverly was okay, the thing is, when Cleverly and Ando play together it's easy to see we would be better with two players who have that dynamism, which Carrick doesn't offer.
Our midfield is better with Carrick in it, but if we could get a player which quality and has a burst of pace we'd be laughing.
Cleverley didn't impress that much last night. I thought Anderson was better.
Cleverley puts far too many of his short passes behind his target. Something I have noticed a bit lately. He needs to put them in front so the target doesn't have to check his run.
I thought we missed carricks control of the game to be honest.
In the first half we could barely get a foot in and struggled to keep the ball. When we attacked however we looked dangerous.
This lack of control probably happened because Anderson was too eager to play a killer ball, whereas Carrick is more patient

Clevz was excellent, I lost count of the number of times he ran past other United players to press Reading
He was always available for a pass too
Probably United's best player without the ball along with a superb Vidic
You see, I'd have to agree with Macca and Maradona_Pele_Best. Strange how people can watch the same game and come to such contrasting opinions. But then people have slated Carrick for years and only now seem to be warming to him.
I was very happy with Cleverley and have high hopes for him.

Not saying he was bad. Just thought Ando was better.

With the ball I'd have to agree. Clevz passing wasn't as good
But Clevs did put a shift in big time for the team, when we had the ball and when we didn't
Nani was on another planet than both though for me
So it's back to the left or dropped come the weekend
Really narked me when SAF said if he keeps up this form it will make team selection moe difficult though. That performance from Nani is far superior to anything we have seen form out other wingers this season. Playing him on the right if he keeps up this form is a bloody no-brainer to me
You really have to wonder why SAF perseveres with Valencia, Young and even Wellbeck on the wings when Nani is fit.
He still made the wrong decision a few times though, and I can see how it will irk SAF.
For all the good Wellbeck done against Real, he made up for it last night with a poor performance.
UnitedRedMacca- Clevshire for the 2014 WC (U2024)
But Clevs did put a shift in big time for the team, when we had the ball and when we didn't

That's basically what I'm trying to say. A few of the bigger players was missing last night and I thought Cleverley stepped up well and played quite a disciplined game for the sake of the team. His pressing was top notch and he was usually there to help a teammate out. I felt his performance allowed Ando to get forward more.
And I was delighted with Nani's performance. I hope to God Fergie keeps him on the right because I truly believe he is one of the best in the world when on form. And giving him games on the right is the best way to get him on form.
He still made the wrong decision a few times though, and I can see how it will irk SAF.

Did you see his face when Nani shot from 40 yards. He was furious
I really do think the boss does get annoyed with Nani far more easily than the other players
Bloody mystery

Sir Alex will have to change his whole mindset for that
If Valencia starts on the RW on Saturday, Nani may as well move on. He will seriouly wonder what he has to do to get his spot back there.
In injury time a Reading player was out wide on the touchline, no danger at all and Nani decides to stick the shoulder into the fella's back and suddenly they have a free kick in a potentially dangerous position. Was really stupid and unnecessary. I thought to myself that if this goes in it'll be a long time before we see Nani playing again.
