Nani: Still one of the best wingers?

On his day, he's better than Mata, Silva, Valencia, Bale and any other winger or attacking midfielder in the league. Everyone knows what Nani can do. It's no secret.

Unfortunately, one week you get Luis Nani, the next you get Louise, the nanny.

Theo Walcott has 28 over the same amount of time. It's a strange statistic especially as a lot of them were in one season.

Nani has always been a confidence player. It usually takes a performance like the one against Reading to help him kick on. Lets hope he does just that.

you can say that about any good player on their day to be honest

Also, I've always thought the idea that Nani is brilliant one week and poor the next is misguided. As I said, he's a confidence player - he tends to go through bursts of form - a bit like Rooney actually. Which is why we need to give him a run on the right.

bloodred, totally agree if nani is inconsistent then what the fack is rooney, who is even more inconsistnent than nani, rooney has played well in about 3 games this season, and that isnt an exaggeration

If Nani could put in the form he did 2 years ago every season, he'd be up there with the best.

Truth is you take that season away and he has an average record.

I hope he realises his potential at OT because I believe if he moves abroad it will be another to the list.

Hello, unrelated. Do you see Evans starting vs QPR or will it be Rio/Vidic?

posted on 22/2/13

Probably Evans. Vidic played on Monday - don't think Fergie would play him twice in 5 days just yet.

Rooney has played well against..

Cluj away
Stoke home
Arsenal home (MOTM)
Reading away
City away (MOTM)
Sunderland home
Fulham away

Those were the notably good games but i'm sure he's been good in others.

The Nani being consistent argument is one that could go on for hours but most people would agree that Rooney is more consistent than Nani will ever be. We miss Rooney from a team more than we miss Nani.

Ok thanks

we were awful against fulham away, cluj away, reading away, sunderland at home, rooney may have scored in some of those games but it doesnt mean he;s played well, and ill never understand how he got MOTM vs arsenal at home, i was at the game and he wasnt that great, he was ok against the worst arsenal team that has ever played at old trafford in the PL

United may not have been at their best but it doesn't mean Rooney wasn't good in those games. Look at Fulham away. Rooney scored the winner but not only that, he hit the post and also made the keeper make a top save.

Part of the reason Rooney got man of the match was how he kept Arsenal's in form (at the time) player, Arteta from doing anything with the ball as well as Rooney himself making some decent contributions.

It will be Vidic, Batmanu.

I got Rafael instead

posted on 22/2/13

Bat, forget putting in CBs in fantasy league. Put the fullbacks in. Evra's got 3/4 goals this year. Rafael same with assists.

posted on 22/2/13

Yea I was short .1 for Rafael but I can get him now, I always get full backs, they start of cheaper than CBs for some reason even though they get more points.

Jonny Evans has more goals this season than Carroll and Downing combined!

i don't understand the nani frustrates thing, pure rubbish in my opinion. What winger performs consistently in every game of their career? Giggs has had some shockers before, so has ronaldo and Beckham, they also had average games and then amazing games. That's what being a winger is about, you can't always beat 2-3 men and stick in a inch perfect cross, if that was the case then we would be perfect and perfects humans are not.

nani is no different to Di maria hazard ribery robben etc.. even Di Maria against us was blasting shots over the bar and losing possession non stop yet people label him the best in the world? Isn't This What nani does?

some fans just want perfection 100% of the time or something.

when di maria or ronaldo shoot 10 times a match and it goes 60 feet over the bar its all 'oooo world class player' or when Di maria was doing crosses to ferdinand against us and ONE yes one cross got in to ronaldo finally and he's labeled the best winger in the world.....

every winger is the same our fans are just fking pathetic

I think that has to do with his previous performances in prior years. I'm sure that in the past 5 season, Torres is one of the highest goal scorers. But that doesn't reflect on how he's doing recently.
But tbf, Nani hasn't been starting muc this season. And he's looked far from a travesty when I've seen him

Greg

Di Maria was hilariously poor that game, yet people were giving him MoTM! I couldn't believe it.

Nani does frustrate because, people know what he can do and 4/5 times he doesn't do it and then on the 5th occasion he will have a game like the one v Reading.

Beers

that's bollax.
Di Maria has been poor all season, he was madrids most threatening player against us, he did Exaxtly what nani does, shoot from range, crosses that go to defenders... Same as every winger in the world.but because its nani he gets slated to absolute sh it. Cr ap 'fans'

posted on 22/2/13

a lot of the time with Nani its a simple pass or cross that he gets wrong or shooting from a imposible angle, this after beating around seven oponents.

Top player on his day.

posted on 22/2/13

Don't get me wrong almost every winger is inconsistent, I'm just saying that because we know Nani is so good on his day that it frustrates the fans when he plays crap.

Also I don't agree with what you said about Di Maria, he wasted the ball in good positions so many times, Ozil was clearly frustrated at one point.

posted on 22/2/13

So why when its ronaldo, bale, Di maria, robben, ribery they they escape criticism?

Is it because our fans are sh it?
