He's a buffoon, he's a racist and he is offensive.

Personally I believe he reaps what he sows, it his his choice how he comments. Having been one of the people subject of his particularly offensive comments I have no time for him and certainly do not miss him.

What did he actually get banned for though? Someone go running to admin? I've given Clive some serious stick over the last few months and nothing has happened to me.

I confronted LIW recently on article about Turkish players. He is most definitely racist and seemed to back it up further after I asked him if it was a knee jerk comment.

I can understand not wanting a connection with Galatasaray, but to not want turks per se is a bit too far.

I've met LIW a number of times, he's never struck me as racist, never made racist comments that I've been aware of, but I know he can come across quite strong on here and sometimes things can be very much open to intepretation (turkish delight etc).

Not trying to defend, just trying to give some insight into someone whom I've met personally and consider a friend.

I wouldn't call it racism, just a blinkered view, many Leeds fans are still tender when it comes to Turkey, those fan's were killed in Turkey, doesn't really matter which team they were associated with does it?

If we were to get a Turk playing for us i wouldn't have a problem, but i could see why there would be animosity amongst our fans if they were to come from G'tasaray.

I can see why he holds those views but to blanket dislike a whole people because of the actions of a few is absurd and racist.

On the thread I asked if it was knee jerk and he pretty much said no. I hope that if he came across a Turkish person in every day working life he wouldn't dislike them out of principle, and give them a chance to show that not everyone from his country is like those vile people who took those two innocent fans lives.

If he were racist then he would have binned his season ticket when we signed a black player, it's not racism, you can't just throw that word around. I've been a poster on ja606 and the old bbc 606 for years and never read anything from LIW to suggest he is racist, he is prejudice against Turks because of what happened, maybe it's wrong to be like that, but understandable. I hope he didn't get banned because of that thread.

Think you need to review your understanding of the word racism mate. Just because it isn't a black person in question doesn't mean it's not racial discrimination.

If an employer were to specify that he doesn't want English people to work for his company then said company would easily lose a court case for racial discrimination. This is no different.

I too hope he wasn't banned off the back of this thread, and wouldn't be bothered in sharing a discussion with him in the future.

LIW is a regular at home and away games, knows his football and is not afraid to give an opinion. JA606 is a poorer place without his input, even if he does overstep the mark some times.

Racism is based on dislike, disgust, or hate strictly based on a persons race, color, or religion.

I think you need to understand the difference between prejudice and racism before labeling people.
