Exactly Bats. Higuain or vidal are rubbish links. Wont happen. I can't see we are signing a striker anyway. The only exception is someone comes our way that no one has on the card at the moment.
Wenger will sign defensively. My guess is a partner for Coquelin position. Ideal someone who is versatile.
Not really, I think a lot of the players liked Cesc and would have welcomed him back for sure. Maybe not with RVP.
Anyway I wouldn't take Cesc back simply because he's nowhere near as good as he used to be and could not do the job Cazorla does for us.
GT - Do you not see us signing a wide player if Theo is to be a genuine striker?

And why would a starting striker like Giroud want to sit on the bench for the few years he has remaining in his career?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because he is a useful striker and offers an alternative tactic?
I think we will sign a striker, Pat rice said so apparently
You can bookmark my following comment.
Wenger will interchange tactics and positions offensively with the options we have. The Ox, OG, Theo, Sanchez, Welbeck and the ones who comes form loans will all play in their position. We dont buy anyone in that area with the exception I made in the comment above.
I can see Wenger buying 1 maximum 2 players this summer. But when he signs someone it will be top class.

GT - I don't think Poldi, Campbell or Sanogo will be in Wenger's plans for next season. Sanogo may still be here but will probably go on loan again.
If we discount them, the options are:
Striker - Theo, Giroud, Welbeck
LF - Alexis
RF - Ox, Gnabry
I've only counted players in one position, and only players who are accomplished in that position.
From that it looks like we need a wide player capable of playing on the left and preferably the right too.

You need to look at facts. Obviously Giroud signed a new contract and Wenger doesnt want him to leave. Otherwise he wouldnt give him a contract. From all signs I get from the player he likes to stay at Arsenal as well.
So dont mix up your wishes with the reality.
But more likely is that Wilshere and Ramsey will be designated as being options for CM and RW.
Has Giroud's contract been announced?
I cant see Wellington, Campbell, Sanogo and Pod play any part in Wenger's plan either but fact is they all are here next summer and Wenger has to make decisions or find solutions to offload and loans first.

The question was why would Giroud, a starting striker for a champions league club, want to sit on the bench at age 28! When it was reported that Giroud a signed a contract, a fact never confirmed, he did as the STARTING striker. Have you asked Giroud if he wants to be a backup?

where else would Giroud go? it's not as if he's an Auguero or RVP player.
If he doesn't want to stay back up, he should leave then, simples
We can compete with Bayern and Real if Pep and Rafa are their respective managers.

And thats why I made the point that I am not anti-Giroud as gt tries to paint me. That comes from paranoia.
I think Giroud is plenty good enough to be a very good striker in league not so reliant on power, pace and movement. I have said in the past, and I stick to it that he could easily succeed in Germany or France, even at a club like PSG. He just doesn't suit Arsenal's system and I don't think he ever will as much as Wenger tries to gerrymander him into it.
Makes no sense selling Giroud. As then we will need 2 strikers. Rather have a top class striker and one semi established in the league. i.e Giroud
Just seen the West Ham are in talks with Unai Emery about being manager. That would be some coup if they pull it off.
