We are basically the English version of Valencia. Was decent a while now but now everyone piiises over us
Manchester City are a bigger club than Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus?
Erm... okay then.
Wolves are pretty flush with cash now.
How 'big' a club are they, J99?
Lex taking no prisoners here
Funny thing is, J99 never stops going on about how well off he is. You'd think in that case how rich a club was would be of less concern to him..?

Define 'big club' though, J99.
----------------------------------------
1 Manchester United England England 3,690 6 11 850
2 Barcelona Spain Spain 3,635 6 2 688
3 Real Madrid Spain Spain 3,580 3 -2 688
4 Bayern Munich Germany Germany 2,713 0 1 657
5 Manchester City England England 2,083 5 8 650
6 Arsenal England England 1,932 16 -4 572
7 Chelsea England England 1,845 0 11 583
8 Liverpool England England 1,492 7 -4 523
9 Juventus Italy Italy 1,258 7 -3 379
10 Tottenham Hotspur England England 1,058 17 4 377
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahh I see... you're confusing 'rich' with 'big'.
Easy mistake to make, in fairness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope. No confusion. Quite simple really.
You have to understand why those clubs are worth so much money. Its not because of their earning. You only have to examine their P/E ratios for that. Its mostly about branding and income generation through commercial expansion.
So in the context of what I was suggesting ie that we should be challenging for top trophies every season and also be a fixture in the Champions League we are a big club. These clubs have to maintain their brand value. Thats how you continue to attract fans and if you are challenging you are also more likely to win trophies. Winning trophies and continuously challenging is how you build a successful history.
I know the above reply maybe maybe too complex for the GCSE fail Tbok but I hope it explains my context lex.
So you genuinely believe that we, The Arsenal, are a bigger club than both Liverpool and Juventus?
Ironic that even on that list we're 6th

That second from last number. Is that how many places we've dropped over the last year? In which case we were actually SECOND?! How??

We are at present. However if Liverpool continue to finish ahead of us and expand Anfield as they are doing 5 years down the line that role we will be a lot behind.
How do you think Liverpool built that huge fanbase they have? What do you think happens to that fanbase in a generation if they underachieve?

Through success on the pitch, of course.
I genuinely think that the Arsenal board's "we're still a big club" attitude is overstated.
And for all the supposed riches we have, we do very little with it.
Again, leading me to believe we're not a 'big club'. At least, not on the scale that some still maintain we are.

TBF Lex, in the one window we've had Mislintat and Sanllehi, we've got rid of a lot of dross and bought in a top class striker plus a decent midfielder.
We've got cash and i hope we can now do something with it, now that Wengy isn't in charge.
He's welcome to his opinion tbf. I just don't agree with him, Pete.
We COULD have become a bigger club, circa the Invincibles era, but Wenger couldn't get a tune out of them in Europe, so we instead became a bit of an enigma.
And even that has now passed.
