Todd Cantwell: We are just people too

J99: No, you're footballers. There is a difference. Now fetch me my slippers

I actually lolled, 'tarts" is such a good word

So if a player tests positive should we just treat that like any other injury and they have to sit out while the team plays on?

Also what's the reason the govt want matches at neutral venues? And why are clubs opposed to it

Aye we need to wrap 20 year old athletes in full fitness in cotton wool while we throw 60 year old obese men back onto assembly lines.

It's not comparable and it's a genuine question... If a team has an outbreak do we suspend the match? All matches? Or just make them play the kids or forfeit the game?

And a genuine question about neutral venues... Do the govt think it's going to be kept secret? They're worried about fans hanging around outside the ground?

Ok there is a misconception here imo. Footballers are being tested at least once if not twice a day. So they would not be shedding virus when they test positive. It would be easy for them to go into self isolation. I don't see how the rest of the squad would need to worry. To a team how would that be any different to a player pulling a hammy and being out 3 weeks?

I think they think United fans won't travel to London, Arsenal fans won't go to Newcastle etc to not watch a game.

Aren't Dresden already behind schedule now, without the Bundesliga even restarting?

And J99, a bit easier to socially distance factory workers than footballers.

But yeah, you're right. They're rich, so fack 'em.

Saka, Willock, Smith Rowe, Nelson.

Rich.

Yeah, luckily there's no United fans outside of Manchester.

Tbh you just know there will be organised massnobbery from groups of supporters hitting the motorway, just so they can Instagram themselves outside the ground their sh/tty team is playing.

If they have all tested negative they could bonk each other silly on the pitch and not pass the disease.

At some point we're going to have to look at mitigating and working with the risk of cov19 as opposed to avoiding entirely but I honestly don't see how football can expect to complete this season. There will be another outbreak and then it's all facked

And yeah... "Morale of the nation" is BS

Agreed, Crouch.

I mean, what percentage of the UK even follow club football, let alone care about it?

5% maybe?

Furlough scheme has been extended

Saw someone say it's cost 2billion so far... Is that all?

We bailed out the banks for how much but now we're penny pinching on this?

I was reacting to the your bail out comment and assumed your 2 billion was referring to the loss football is projected to suffer. my fault sorry m8. Thought you were linking the two.

Furlough cost is something like £40Bn. think it was £8bn a month.

*8bn for paye alone exl self employed.
