Signed practically no one to improve our first team. Failed to sell and then offered contract extensions to some of the worst first team players in the squad.

This is quickly turning out to be one of the worst transfer windows ever. Even worse than the time we signed only Cech.

Madison definitely improves us, there's just something I don't like about his style of play. He's not really a "baller".

That's obviously just personal preference, his style might improve us a lot

Not sure what it's so funny tbh. We thrown £50M on a 23 YO cb who only one season in the PL despite having a decent defensive record last season.
The myth that we neither have or spend money is long gone. We do spend it, just very very badly like £70M for Pépé.
Maddison is not a high profile player so it is not like we'll be competing with the lack of City, Chelsea or Barca for his signing. Plus, we are probably the only club stupid enough to pay £70M for him.
