Lex, when I heard of Roma's interest on Xhaka I was suprised as I know Arteta doesnt want him to leave.
The player also wanted to leave. My stand on it was if Xhaka is going to leave we a 100% improvement on him and not penny pinching about another player that doesnt improve us.

Arsenal have 4 Covid cases, Laca and Auba are 2 of them. Arsenal want to cancel game, PL not letting them. All players travelling to the game on their own, no team coach. #arsenal #BREARS
@EduardoHagn
If it's true it is a scandal to be honest. It comes all together for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sigh....it's going to be another season of covid disruption. Why can't PL players get mandatory vaccinations?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't understand it either.
GT, Roma paid €40m on Tammy. They were obviously taking the piiiss with their bid. Doubt he was ever a serious target, given his wages

The rumour was he had a personal agreement with Roma already. Might be right or might be wrong.
Santi brought a certain technical and reliable style to our midfield. When he had the ball, he hardly lost it.

Ah yeh you're right. Yeh, then they were counting on the chaos at the helm at Arsenal. You can thank KSE for setting up such a inexperienced setup. Even two bob clubs like Roma feel they can bully Arsenal to sell up on the cheap.

Honestly, I think that is what Roma did.
This is what happens when you start terminating players contracts. Other players feel they can use it as a pass to still get paid but move on (Kolasinac) and other clubs can smell the desperation and chaos, so start to hand in low ball offers. Edu needs to wake the fack up, tbh. No payouts for Kolasinac.

Yeah, I didn't mean to put that on Santi. More than he never really had a midfield partner of similar quality. If he wasn't having a great game, meant we were usually over run.

Talked yesterday with you about how Chelsea operate. And they worked that out over years now.

'Sorry but I don't buy the deadwood excuse anymore.'
You mean you think we currently have a perfectly balanced, not at all congested, playing squad, with adequate space still for one or two additions.
Okay.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. I am not saying that. Just that it doesn't matter how many new players you throw at the team, are you confident that it will make a difference?
We just spent £50m on a CB. Did we look more secure against Brentford? How much difference did Partey and Gabriel make last season?
Until we fix the underlying problem with coaching and team organisation nothing is going to improve is it?
I agree with both Lex and J99 tbf.
We absolutely need better quality players - that's not up for debate. There's still too many mediocre players at the club.
But unless you're City, Chelsea or Man Utd, you are never going to get the budget you want to sign the exact players you want. That's 85% of the division who don't have that luxury.
So then it comes down to quality of coaching.
Can the coach get the best out of the players he has at his disposal? Is he maximising what he has? Or is he trying to fit too many square pegs in round holes in the hope that one day it will just magically click?
And whilst I don't believe our squad is top-4 quality, there's no way anyone can convince me that Arteta is getting the best out of these players. We should be challenging for a spot if nothing else.
Our issues are deeper than just 1 or 2 quality signings (though it would help). There's clearly confusion over Arteta's style of play and how rigid he is. The lack of coherent style is a huge problem.
