Then why didn't she go to the police instead of social media?

United will find a way to keep Greenwood on the pitch but because he was late few times, Auba will never kick a ball for us again.

She may well have done.

Or she may well (rightly or wrongly) thought going to the police wasn't the best option.

May have got it wrong, but it seems as if you are praising United for potentially keeping an alleged rapist, woman beater and all round caaaaant in the team?

Although, tbf, a fair few on here want us to sign Bissouma while he is facing sexual assault charges 🤔

Not praising United at all. Just highlighting the gap between both clubs on what they think an offence is.

So you’re praising Arteta and Arsenal then.

Sorry, I read it differently.

Good on you.

Whilst I can’t quite believe that no one around the club had suspicions about Greenwood (he’s been in and out of their side enough to suspect something wasn’t right behind the scenes) Man Utd still have an opportunity to come out of this well by sacking him, and thus righting off a multi million pound asset.

They've made a statement condemning domestic violence but saying they want to establish the facts first

The fact she did makes any prosecution very difficult.

Because they are allegations. Unless the police charge him there is no case and so whats the problem? If you do your due diligence that can be all cleared up one way or the other.

Unfortunately, even in 2022 it’s very usually difficult for women to successfully bring cases against their abusers.

Maybe why she’s opted for the socially media route. Not looking for an unlikely conviction, but more just to finish the guy.

Yes that's what I wondered. Even with all the evidence he'd probably only get some sort of restraining order and all the evidence would then be suppressed

One of the reasons why its difficult to bring cases is because they don't want their partner (abuser) in jail. Its easy for us men not to understand that mentality but I have seen it with friends. However I cannot understand going to social media.

I don’t know what the status of their relationship was - are/were they still together? But posting this now on social media would be a good way of protecting herself from him doing anything to her again in the future.

Police corruption is rife, mate. We don’t know the half of what gets covered up.

Young player playing for one of the biggest, richest clubs in the world? There’d be lots of reasons to suspect this would be brushed under the carpet.

Yeah abusive relationships are often very complicated, a lot of the time it's frustrating to see/hear about as well as horrible

I can understand her going down the social media route in this particular case. It's unlikely the police would've done much and without the evidence ever being public it all might have blown over quickly

However it will forever prejudice any trial and so there won't be a prosecution. Now she has opened herself to 'he says, she says' type media frenzy. He could accuse her of making it all up for sympathy and money. And Man Utd are going to defend their asset. In my opinion its entirely the wrong way of going about it if she was serious about getting justice.

Not as much in this country. Especially for high profile cases.

It would be he says she says regardless. She has physical evidence at least though, in or out of court

I thought that evidence can be suppressed after the trial? Not something I know a lot about but it was my understanding
