It's unfair to say there is no racism, black people just need to work harder.

Same as saying there is no homophobia, or bias towards disabled people. Yeah some/many will succeed but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist

The issue is when the solutions to these problems don't address the underlying issues (stupid stuff like diversity quotas) and don't work for anyone

like your can do attitude. However many people in this country have been ghettoised since the 1960s and then have had years on unequal investment in those areas. That often leads them into crime and destitution. Just go to the council estates in Hackney. Now you can rightly say white working class have a similar issue in northern cities. And both need investment equally.

It's all based on values and upbringing. There's a big difference between African blacks and Caribbean blacks, the African's tend to value education more come from two parent families so tend to do better.

I worked in Hackney as a mentor to young people there, and they were just trapped in a cycle, so hard for them to think differently as that is how their parents were bought up.

Yes it does come down to more than hard work, it comes down to how you think, if you think you are a victim you will always stay that way.
