Lex, Özil or Odegaard at their prime?

Odegaard. No question.

Loved Ozil during those first few seasons at Arsenal, but he was a big part of the toxicity at the club in the end, and I can't forgive him for that.

Even in his prime, he never bossed games the way Odegaard has done for Arsenal.

Okay, so recency bias and Ozil wrecking his Arsenal legacy after his contract extension plays a part.

Not sure Arsenal truly got prime-Oil though. Think he peaked at Real. We got him when he was still a very good player. He improved us, without him actually improving whilst he was with us.

With Odegaard, however, it's just... different. His improvement has coincided with the team's improvement. He just feels more intrinsic to Arsenal now than Ozil did. His age, married to the average age of the current squad plays a part in that too.

Just excited to see the player he can still become.

We definitely didn’t get prime Ozil unfortunately.

Odegaard was incredible last night and has plenty of great games this season but has also probably had more stinkers than any of our 1st XI. Need him to play like this every week and more importantly against the big boys.

Özil at this game was excellent for us. No doubt.

Both players lacking consistency.

Ozil was a bit unlucky due to Walcott and Santi's injury woes. At times we were amazing and Ozil was a key part.

Saliba looked well of the pace yesterday, hopefully the 90 minutes has him back up to speed for B&HA

Yup. Looked rusty to me as well. Better as the game went on but wasnt really tested in the second half.

Looked like a player who needs game time.

Deschamps to blame

Do think we need a CB this January, although doesn't seem likely. And that is even if NDicka is coming in the summer.

I think we need a striker and another midfielder and we are done for the January transfer window.

Yesterday we were very close to either Cedric or Holding starting. Injury or suspension to Saliba or Gabriel and that is the situation.

I was suprised that Cedric sat on our bench yesterday. Thought he was on his way out.

Ben White can play at CB as well.

When is Tomi back?

Think is it bad if your replacement CB is your first choice RB.

Tomi could be back soon, but then will probably be out again.

We have versatile defenders. So this part of the team is less to worry about in my view. Ziny is also back.
