Jao Felix

What about him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ornstein confirmation.

Ornstein also said that the Jao Felix deal will be difficult to materialise as the numbers needs to come done significantly.

His name is João ffs.

I cant do a "ã"

I don't believe for one minute that we will go for Felix and Mudryk as is the rumour at the moment. However if Mudryk asking price continues to rise and Jao Felix price lowers then it is really difficult to choose between them. Do you go for a proven player or Mudryk who is potentially world class but is very young and not quite talked of in those levels atm.

I can do an ä instead

Felix hasnt done it at Atletico. That's why Atletico is ready to let him go.

No.

okay.

I trust Arteta and Edu in singing the right player. There is always a risk to sign a nobody for that high price. I havent seen enough of Mudryk to judge on him. If he is the chosen one we need to sign him now so that he is allowed to play from January on.

Felix doesn't have a bad record. Simeone's system is very rigid and not ideally set up for Felix's game. But he is only 23 and there is a reason why he is thought of so highly. Is he more suited to us? Time will tell if we sign him.

Mudryk however is more of a gamble imo. What has he done apart from score a few goals against Celtic? Brentford were the only club after him last summer and now he is suddenly worth £80m?

I doubt we will sign that Felix guy when United and Chelsea are both interested

We should go for Ferran Torres

How is Felix proven? He had one good season at Benfica then flopped at Atletico. And you say Atletico don’t suit his game but his stats for Portugal are significantly worse than his club stats.

A supposed £16m loan fee for a guy who scored 15 goals in the Portuguese league seems crazy to me.

The rumour is of a £8m loan fee counting towards whatever set fee option is agreed now for the summer.

"How is Felix proven?" you are right of course. He has scored in Liga playing wide/central/second striker, 24 goals and 14 assists? I suppose I should have phrased it better. He has played more at a higher level than Mudryk and scouts believe he has a higher ceiling.

But I suppose 'try before you buy' is more attractive to me than someone who really is a hot in the dark.

posted on 29/12/22

Even an £8m fee seems hefty considering it would only be half a season.

That being said, I’m not against signing him on loan at all as long as there is no obligation to buy and not at the expense of Murdryk

posted on 29/12/22

I believe its an option to buy. Not an obligation.

I really do feel we need to get the deal done for Mudryk or Felix before the FA Cup tie and use that time to integrate them.

I really don't have huge faith in Eddie.

Carlo Nicolini -

"I can confirm that Arsenal are one of the most active teams," he told calciomercato.it. "When there is a team interested, we ask them, 'Make an offer and when we have it on the table, we'll start negotiating'.

"As we've always said, to deal with Mudryk you will need an important offer. Arsenal may have made such an offer, but there is negotiations. Players have been sold that clubs wanted to sell and that we believe are no stronger than Mudryk, with a valuation of around €100m, so €60m is not under consideration.

"I'm not the one making the figure, I don't have particular indications from the board, but the director said that we need an offer closer to [Jack] Grealish than to Antony. If the up-front figure is €40m, it is not even taken into consideration."

Yeah he sounds like he is over valuing Mudryk.

We have had plenty of time to get deals done, really should be getting them in early…

Exactly.....We need the player(s) early in. The next four games are decisive for us.
