They get knocked out of the CL every season and still win the league. It really doesn’t matter with City, they always win
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep.
The nature of the way we let them take control is really frustrating, but all in all there's no shame losing to this lot. Just have to hope Arteta learns from it and can turn it into a teachable moment for our young squad.

If they were knocked out by Bayern KdB, Silva and Grealish would have played against Leeds and today and they would have won both games by 5 or 6.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No guarantee of that. The dream of the treble would have been over and I think another CL defeat could have affected them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As proved by every other season... Oh!!!

Let's talk about facts. Draws against West Ham and the Saints at home cost us the title.

West hame game for me. We score the pen, we win the game and probably beat Southampton

We would still be second of we won both those games
As things stand, drawing at Anfield has cost us the title. We would have had to win 15 of our last 16 games. That’s the level you have to be at to win the league vs city ffs

Yeah "could" of
More likely it wouldn't have affected them in the league at all and they would have played their strongest XI and won more comfortably.
Still boring to watch City.

This.
City took 6 points off us, those 12 points are the real difference.
Win either of our games vs City and we would be top. We’ve lost like 13 league games in a row against them, something ridiculous like that. Has any team won the league in the last 10 years without beating City?
First few weeks of February as well didn't help things. It was an opportunity for us to get a massive lead over Man City. We only got 1 point from the games against Everton, Brentford and Man City.
Back pass from Tomyiasu at home to City.....regrets.
Dont get me started with the Brentford at home game ffs.
If you look at our season, the only 2 bad runs we have had were the games up to and including the City games.
We lost concentration with the shadow of City looming both times.
Even after fecking up vs Liverpool, West Ham and Saints we could have gone top by winning at the Etihad. We don’t have the mentality to go to a title rival and beat them in a crucial game, not yet anyway. Lessons will be learnt for next season hopefully
Neal Maupay will save us!!!

We don't needed the games vs City to win if we wouldnt have lost points in these games.
Do you think beating City in one of the games would have them a little more rattled about the idea of us being serious title challengers?
Never rely on other teams that is the lesson we need to learn. Keep things in your own hands.
Easy said than done against this financially doped club. Hope we show another good display today and win against Brighton at home.

Yea well we did drop points in those games so we had to beat them
We basically need to be like 15+ points clear at the top going into April next year then as Man City will undoubtedly go on an annoying mad winning run.

Well they have a mental edge over us. We have lost what the last 13 games v City.

Think we had a real good chance to do so but Tomiyasu's back pass, a lack of concentration cost us yet again. We were way the better team until this inciddent.
