Maybe I thought they would be scoring more goals. Nkunku looked awful against City tbh. Fair enough if its just because he isn't match fit.
Diaby was playing well but then Emery seems to have preferred someone else as hes benched a lot recently? maybe cause Jacob Ramsay came back from injury?
Diaby has been poor for a while and dumped in favour of Leon Bailey.
Only his first PL season though, so dips in form maybe can be excused.
Emery having nightmares of Pepe
goal involvement every 186 mins so less than every 2 games, first season new league/team not too bad.
DJ's man Leon Bailey to the carpet?
I think we tend to exaggerate player performances from abroad. Games in the Premier League are played at a much higher intensity, and I don't think players who rely on pace only to create space, realise that defenders can match them here.
Hodgson gone. Tbh I thought they had already replaced him with some German lad?
Probably to do with money. I suspect Hodgson is only now fit enough to step down and not be fired!

Definitely is a factor isnt it. Other leagues feels like they can slow the play down size up their man get positioned before taking them on. Prem if you are a threat like that for your pace orr w.e if you take 1 extra touch you'll have 3 men back tripling up on you after sprinting to get back in support.
Palace never should have got rid of Vieira
Yeah. Weak owner. I commend Kroenke sticking with Arteta through the hard moments.

Yeah, they had a shocking run of fixtures against the top 8, then as soon as the easier games came about they sacked him.
Wouldn't mind seeing Palace relegated tbh. Without Eze and Olise they are a horrendous team going forward.
Sadly it looks like the last relegation place will be decided off the pitch.
Vieira was a disciplinarian, and Hodgson got the benefit when the players relaxed. But if Palace want to rely on young players, they need a Vieira type more than Ange/Hodgson imo.

No meetings today, so no. But it's actually true. Vieira/Arteta/Rob Edwards did their coaching badges together and believe in very structured football, ala Pep.
Vieira's last 12 games were City, Arsenal, Man Utd twice, Newcastle, Liverpool, Brighton twice, Spurs, Chelsea, Villa and Brentford. He got 5 draws and most defeats were by 1 goal - if those games were spread out I doubt anyone would criticise the results too much.
The 3 after he got sacked were against the relegated 3 - which he got 2 wins and an away draw in the reverse fixtures. I am pretty sure he would have won those, as Palace did.
He had them more than comfortable around 10th to 12th, they finished 11th and now they sit 16th and very much in the battle for survival. Really don't think it was because Vieira was a "disciplinarian", just a quirk of the fixture list.
