I agree, probaly due to his age, the silly fee Brentford want, and the fact that we seem to scoring a lot right now too.

Brentford said they didn't get one offer for Toney. And he has refused to sign an extension. Brentford think he has already been nobbled, so I doubt they get what they want!

Toney seems like such an obvious signing, though. Regardless of Trossards good work (against fairly poor opposition), central striker is very clearly the position we could upgrade in.

I suspect us, Liverpool and Chelsea as a minimum will be in for him.

Chelsea maybe, but he breaks their signing policy. I don't think Liverpool money to spend big.

Why should they? General vibe is Arsenal won’t be anywhere near the top towards the end. Even Arsenal fans feel the same way. Let’s just wait it out

I suspect there was a gentleman's agreement between Toney and Brentford that if he stayed and "repaid" them "sticking by him" during his ban he will be allowed to leave in the summer at a "fair" price.
They have already signed his replacement (with the initials I.T. so they don't have to update the training kits...) who is coming in the summer.

What about Evan Ferguson?
