They isolated the slight touch and didn't consider anything else around the situation.

I hate when people say by the letter of the law he should've been off, how can it be when everything around it was done against the law?
Exactly, letter of the law means it doesn't come to that conclusion. Common sense says it doesn't come to that conclusion.
One reason why this happens imo is because 90% of the media is very, very lazy. So the initial view of the incident sticks, be it commentators or wallies in a studio. Arteta said that it was ok by the letter of the law and rest is ignored. If Arteta had said Rice's move towards the ball was immaterial because the free kick was taken from the wrong place or the ball was rolling, so Rice was only kicking the ball to point out that it was being taken from the wrong place would have altered the narrative. Our PR ppl are very poor to not inform Arteta of how to play it. These type of PR mistakes have happened a lot to Arteta.
It's not as if Arteta can get briefed before he goes into a conference or before he gets interviewed.
Well if the PR team are working during the game on all incidents they can easily go over it in minutes after he goes inside before he talks to the media. He has 10-15 mins.
Nwanners comes to the rescue for his nation. 1-1

wow
Ethan going to be world class.
Then the Germans coming back. 2-1
We only care about Arsenal players.
Guess that Arsenal has not published anything about Ode`s injury isnt a good sign.
If it was good news then surely it would be better not to show their hand? Keep Spurs in the dark as much as possible!
Dont think he will be ready to play on Sunday anyway even if they have better news than expected.

Odegaard and Rice to start!!!
Martin Ødegaard is facing an anxious wait over the extent of his ankle injury. Ødegaard is a huge doubt for Arsenal’s North London Derby against Tottenham on Sunday, with reports in Norway even suggesting he could be out for a MONTH. 🤕 [

I see Saka and Rice both start again.
Zinchenko starts for Ukraine in the #8 role...
Havertz starts for the Germans. Timber on bench for the Dutch.
Ankle injuries are pretty hard to tell in my experience, often they can clear up quickly or you can play in a certain amount of pain.
Hope Saka gets brought off early on
