Seriously, how are we supposed to set up without merino and Odegaard?

Unless Saka turns up, our attack is absolutely mince right now. Martinelli couldn't buy a goal at the moment. Jesus is Jesus. Sterling needs time, but is still only a loan. Havertz is needed in midfield.

Nah, we looked much better vs Spurs than Atalanta, and now we have Rice back too. I'd go back to that setup, Havertz is so much more of a handful for defences.

If we play against city like we did against spurs, we will lose. Arteta knew spurs attackers are shiiiiiiit. City will punish us

Spurs scored in every game since May (City away) till they played us

I don't think Spurs were that shiiite (well they weren't amazing but still) it's just we shut them down so perfectly. We can do the same vs City especially with Rice.

I'd dump Partey, go with Rice and Jorgy (who I heard last night covered the most distance vs Spurs!) , one of Tross/Saka/Sterling/Ethan ahead of them and Havertz up top.

People are being a bit harsh on Jesus. He was shiiiiit last night, but he is just coming back from injury. Needs a bit of time.

He has been shiiiiit his entire Arsenal career. Is he always coming back from injury?

"Every game since may" that's 4 games

Their attack is completely average ffs. City will be a far bigger test. I hope arteta has a plan.

Jesus with minutes in his legs is secure on the ball and while dribbling. Last night, nothing stuck with him. He kept falling over when being challenged or when he tried to advance the play.

It's not that, Tu. Jesus and Havertz didn't work last season either. They both tend to come deep and have the same qualities. They are good workers and press the ball. Neither have pace nor finishing.

So look at our no.10s in the past. Bergkamp, Kanu, Adebayor, RVP.

Adebayor/Kanu were the hold up types you could play around. Bergy was a creative no.10, like Odegaard or De Bruyne or RVP.

How would you categorise Havertz or Jesus?

As a striker partnership, they don't work. But when havertz is asked to run in behind from midfield then they work well together. They combined for a goal against Luton, and havertz had chances against villa at home last season.

Havertz was being asked to go up top whenever we went long yesterday to win the ball for a knockdown. They were invading each others spaces and it didn't work. Too much confusion.

I think we genuinely started well yesterday, for about the first 15-20 mins. Without creating any clear chances, we didn't make the most of half chances.

Arteta wanted an early goal if possible and then stink the game out a bit. We didn't get the goal but we switched to going long anyway.

With city away (who don't have to travel and have an extra days rest), we proceeded to stink the game out anyway. I'll take the point.

What min will Saliba get sent off against Man City for winning the ball cleanly from Halaaand?

100% correct statement.

That´s said. Calafiori needs to start against City in midfield.

Surely you would do Timber in midfield and Cala LB if you were going to start Cala?

As we will park the bus v City, I would play the same team that started yesterday on Sunday.

Lets be honest, we are going to play for a draw and won't really attack. Might as well beef up the MF with physicality and height

Saka on the training ground as punishment for his awful showings this season

Castor would have us playing swashbuckling football only to lose 5-0

Review of yesterday game: set up wasn’t bad, we created two very good chances but a certain Martinelli is awful and both fell to him

The first Martinelli chance was a half chance at best tbf. We'd all be saying what a great finish it was if it went in.
