Great result, I didn't see the game unfortunately but does anyone thing MLS could take the Partey position?

Reports from preseason suggested that Arteta thinks he is more suited to an inverted full back role like Zinny than Partey's position which requires more defenseive thinking. And Declan is not going anywhere for a long time.

I wasn't all that impressed with Nichols but the others were very good. Kiwi and Cali did a solid job shielding Porter.

Starting to think everything Chris H says is a WOL 🤔

He is 18 and developing very quickly. He has all the qualities needed to play midfield, and a lot of time to get there.
If Timber is out again then he isn't far off PL games at LB though.

I have a feeling Jorginho will leave and Partey will get a new contract backing up Rice for a couple of years. In case they both go I think Arsenal will buy a young holding player to develop. I don't see Arsenal putting up with make-dos anymore. Which means young players will have to justify being good enough to play for a title winning team.

Obviously from what Arteta said he is not good enough to be developed in that specific role. Keep in mind that Arteta didn't think Rice was initially good enough to do that either and he cost £105m! Remember all that fuss we had over Maitland-Niles? Arteta looks for a very specific skill set.
