Marginal decisions are only marginal if there’s a chance of them going either way.

When they constantly go again you, they can no longer be considered marginal, but weighted.

Very. Stay on the front foot and keep the ball in the opposition half away from your goal. We had no hold up play so Arteta used Rice to play alongside Jesus to hold the ball up against a team that was always going to press high. We had no backup to Havertz to hold the ball up.

Liverpool were always going to walk the league for sure with the position they're in and the way they're playing, but I'm amused anyone thought we had a prayer of sustaining any kind of challenge once Saka got injured. There's simply not enough quality around the squad to challenge. Beyond Odegaard (who seems to be getting even worse) where is the creativity coming from? Rice corners? Who can we rely on for goals with every other attacker in the team having gaping holes in their game, and not even having enough attacking options? We're supposed to win the league with THIS?

It happens when the opposition has the momentum and the crowd behind them. Refs are useless. But when the oppo have the momentum and clear chances, you are giving them opportunity to influence the game.

When is the Partey Rb nonsense going to stop.

Him at Rb equals us dropping points. Why not try mls or something out there rather than Partey.

Brighton are a good physical side, and normally you’d be happy taking a point home from the AMEX. Especially as we had 4 of our best players unavailable, and Odegaard not able to start.

Even so, the feels like had the ref not been such a joke we’d have got the win.

Worst thing is, Joao Pedro should be serving a 3 match ban and shouldn't have been anywhere near the pitch.

I hope he records MotD tonight as he will probably never see one like that given ever again either.

yup.....need them badly.

I was only thinking in that match how it had been a while since refs gave a ridiculous decision against us. The LeTtEr Of ThE LaW merchants will be out in their droves but that was never a pen in a million years.

I think it's contentious but I'd be annoyed if it happened against us and wasn't given. More annoyed at the defending that led us to that position and the alround play in the second half.

Yeah the consistency is my bigger issue here, that one on Martinelli was more clear than the foul for the pen but nothing was given.

In the same way we invite pressure on ourselves with performances like that, PGMOL do the same with ineptitude and inconsistency

What about the foul on Gabriel in the first half? That wasn't given as a penalty but I bet you didn't even notice it because it wasn't given and nothing was made of it. If that penalty incident had happened in the other box it wouldn't have been given and nothing would have been made of it and you wouldn't have been annoyed at all. It was a nothing incident made into a major talking point.
