Yet he identified standards dropped in the second half. Surely if standards drop and don't show signs of rising you make subs to encourage that change? To identify something and do nothing about it seems bad management?

Was fit for most of last season and out of favour. Yet, the club saw fit to give him a 4-year contract heading into last season. Then loan him out just one year into the contract when he wasn't getting playing time.

Anyways, it's pathetic to find ourself in a situation where facking Brighton have more attacking depth than we do. What on earth have we been spending money on all these years?

Partey was very poor first half. Gave the ball away a fair few times and also got beaten quite easily. Given the dropped standards that should have been addressed one way or another.

Oh I agree with you. But I don't think it would have mattered. Jesus only has an impact if we are dominating play. The idiot was standing on the wing in the 90th minute. How many forwards let alone strikers don't want to score the winner?

Partey goes from having a motm type game in CM to RB. Ridiculous. But then again so is our defensive situation regarding FB, how have we got so many defenders yet they’re all injured

We were the team on the attack in the incident. Why would a pen be considered?

Partey has been one of our best players this season, and best suited to deputize at RB for this match, given Timber's suspension. Not sure why this is still a debate.

Worked well so far. Have we won a game when Partey played at RB?

Because we were playing poorly in the second half, Partey was very poor first half at full back and no better second. Why wouldn't you question why he wasn't moved to midfield, especially as you claim he has been one of our best players - surely for his performances in midfield and not the crap at right back??

Partey offering nothing at RB. We had enough FB on the bench. Play at least a natural defender in this position ffs.

Partey didn't have a good game at RB but he wasn't at fault for the pen. Jorginho was caught and Gabriel ran into midfield. That created the gap behind him. Calafiori covered, but Saliba was all at sea without Gabriel positioning him. He lost Pedro and panicked. Saliba has played most minutes and it looks telling at the moment. We are missing Ben White a lot only if to give some rest to Saliba.

I’ll be content with two domestic cups this season. It would still be an underachieving season as really, the title is what we should’ve won. But still better than plotless. Go trophy less, and the board need to start asking Arteta questions.

If he was in midfield Jorginho wouldn't have been caught anyway Your whole comment makes no sense to the discussion.

I don't think this team will win any cups without some reinforcements in attack.

Cos there's no other clear options, and given he's played there many times under Arteta, seemed best suited. Best suited doesn't mean it's ideal. It means it's the best of other bad options.

There were some VERY clear options.

Partey has been just as poor in midfield playing 2 games in a week. He just can't do it anymore. Arteta should have started Rice in midfield but then no one would have held the ball up. This was all Arteta's experimentation imo. He so wanted what he tried against Bournemouth to work. Martinelli was clearly fit and should have started.

Far as I'm concerned, the defense wasn't the issue. We didn't offer enough menace in attack to worry Brighton, so an attacking team playing at home decided they had nothing to lose in swarming us. And we had no outlets in attack to relieve the pressure and turn the tables on them. Brighton wouldn't have success playing like that against Liverpool, cos they will hurt you badly on the counter.

If there were any intention to bring someone in tthen we need the player at the beginning of January and not when the transfer window is closed by the end of January

Arteta keeps on saying the work is done and they have their targets. All depends on the selling clubs. So why wouldn't you have plan Bs? We wasted the summer waiting for Sesko with no plan B.

Wouldn’t be surprised if City start hounding us down . Only 6 points behind us, despite having the worst form imaginable. Arteta will fail to finish above City yet again.
