Of course you would if it was a player that could help you for the rest of the current season.

Imagine Arsenal not signing a forward this month simply because he’d be out of contract in the summer.

Plus the benefits of getting that player settled in, 5 months of accustoming to a new league, sorting out the house and all that shiiiit.

If we wanted, for example, David and Lille said we could take him now for £15m rather than wait til the summer, it would be a no-brainer to pay it.

I wonder if Aaron Ramsdale is going to end up becoming one of those keepers promoted clubs sign, meaning he constantly gets 1-2 seasons in the PL before his inevitable relegation again.
