Because Arsenal already have good attackers
Because strengthening other areas of the pitch was more important
Because of player availability
Because of Arsenal’s inability to afford their key targets
Always thought the strategy is to wait for their targets rather than making it happen. Shows that there is no pressure to win trophies. Let's see if that changes with a new director of football.

it's likely that the kronkes thought they could gamble on not getting what is required to win the PL as they have done for the last 20 years.
They wouldn't spend £100m on Rice if they didn't want to win a title

Have we yet to win a game in the white kit?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal has worn the special all-white "No More Red" kit on three occasions as part of their campaign against knife crime and youth violence:
January 9, 2022: FA Cup third-round match against Nottingham Forest. Arsenal lost 1-0.
Wikipedia
January 9, 2023: FA Cup third-round match against Oxford United. Arsenal won 3-0.
The Telegraph
January 7, 2024: FA Cup third-round match against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal wore the all-white kit as part of the "No More Red" campaign.
The results in these matches were:
1 win (3-0 vs. Oxford United)
2 losses (1-0 vs. Nottingham Forest; result against Liverpool not specified in the provided sources)

I don't doubt they want to win the title. But it is about how you do it. Do you build slowly and so sacrifice a season when they don't get their targets, or do you inject some urgency and buy 2nd/3rd choice to challenge every season? Arteta's comments suggest they are happy to wait. I have always been in the second camp, even with Wenger, to understand the urgency of now. Dein put pressure on Wenger that Kroenke never did. Players get injured/lose form/don't develop, and you can't faff about waiting for ideal targets. Especially because a lot of them talk with fork tongue.

it's already 5 years into the "process" how much longer do you have to wait?
Chelsea will be fighting for the PL again soon, Man Utd will surely catch up, Man City won't need much longer to sort out their woes, this is the best time to do it
We will find it hard to keep players like Saliba and Saka if we don't show ambition again. It's not much we had to do this season to be better

Absolutely, which is why I find the excuses very flimsy. This Jan is a prime example. Buy a fecking striker and go max tilt at remaining tournaments. What makes Arteta think that Sesko would jump to another club that will offer more money next summer. Much rather get Osimhen/Vlahovic (assuming they were already scouted in the past).

There isn't much difference with Liverpool owners and Arsenal's, they didn't buy who they needed, Liverpool have a good attack and have been quite lucky with their injuries (compared to last year), if by some chance they don't win the league you will see their fans revolt

I don't think thats true. Liverpool actually have a much higher wage bill. That they can't afford with the new ffp rules. Thats why I think they will find it hard to retain vvd, salah and taa. I do think they can spend because of years of CL money that gives them good psr.
We have the opposite problem imo. Our psr has not been good because this is only our second year back in CL football but our wages (ffp) is quite good.
