"Zinny" changed agents this summer looking for a move and couldn't swing it. If teams weren't interested then what can we do

ESR and Nketiah clearly had interest. There's no need to complicate things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We also turned down Saudi bid for Trossard. How do you explain that?

PSR is an issue but not one that was a huge problem with direct investment when loans were decalred illegal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trossard was after the window shut, so no chance of replacing him.

Well I don’t have any confidence of winning either game

But IF we could. Winning a NLD is just the boost we need to kickstart this painful season
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Neither do I. The only thing keeping me going is statistical variance is surely going to go our way at some point, this finishing run we've had recently is insane

Josh clearly looked at the record breaking goals scored last season, and blocked a big money transfer on a forward.

The money used for Merino and Calafiori could definitely have been better spent, but I genuinely think we had a budget, and we used it all.

Two loan signings after that kinda back up this theory.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you sure it wasn't just Arteta trying to justify his c00ck up buying Havertz?

When was the trossard bid? I remember it being after the window closed, so we couldn't get a replacement.

They didn't replace esr, eddie, vieira. If it was an edict from KSE surely they would have done most to recoup?

In fact one way to get all the money back was to sell Saliba to Madrid.

posted 6 hours, 49 minutes ago

That’s also a good way to set our development back 5 years

Merino came in for ESR. Nwaneri was promoted to replace Vieira. Nketiah was surplus.

Why would we have sold one of our best when we could sell ESR and Nketiah?

And Arteta obviously prioritised Merino, Calafiori, Joan Garcia over a striker.

What options within the current squad have we got to change things in the short term?

Martinelli through the middle? Our dangerous moments in the first half came when he was running through the middle. Spurs high line could give him opportunities.

Sterling starting? He looked decent enough for a short period today.

Zinchenko in midfield? Offers more passing skill than Rice and Merino.

Tierney at left back and scrap the inverted full back? Give Martinelli/Trossard an overlapping fullback.

Really not many options with Jesus and possibly Jorginho out. Expect the team to be pretty much the norm of Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, left back, Partey, Rice, Odegaard, Martinelli, Havertz, Trossard.

posted 6 hours, 44 minutes ago

Oh, Timber may be out. So Merino for him with Partey RB.

posted 6 hours, 42 minutes ago

I think Timber will be OK. But hasn't Tomi been back in training for a couple of weeks? Should be on the bench soon.

posted 6 hours, 40 minutes ago

Would like to know how serious Jesus injury is. The push for a striker should go into overdrive rather than faffing about with wide players.

posted 6 hours, 39 minutes ago

White will be back before him.

posted 6 hours, 37 minutes ago

Is White in training?

Piers Morgan

Pathetic, Arsenal.
How can you lose at home to a team that has 10 men for that long? So long as Havertz is our main striker, we have zero chance of winning any big trophies. He was abysmal today. If Arteta doesn’t buy big this window, incl a top striker. our season is over.
