Any bets that Giroud will be modelling all the new kits?
My point is that this attributes are underrated by some regarding the way we approach the game now. We all need that OG isnt a goalscorer or someone who can change games but in our current system he is important and vital at the moment.
==========================================
Not talking about Giroud.
Am talking about centre forwards in general.
People have got themselves into this train of thinking that having a typical CF who holds up play is the only way we can attack.
It is one way, but it is not the only way. Look at the days when we used to have Henry and Bergkamp up top. Neither of them could win a thing in the air, but that worked. Same for countless strike forces round the world.
This isn't the only way to play attacking football. You can play with other types of strikers.
-----------------
I believe Wenger like most managers loves to have options in the squad. Look at when Wenger was successful,
Fast direct striker = Henry, Hold up big physical target man = Kanu, Clever technically superb link striker = Bergkamp, Power and eye for the goal = Wiltord.
Wright, Anelka, Jeffers, etc all variations of the same theme.

At the end of the day, (Brian) who gives a sh/t which Arsenal player scores as long as we win matches?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wenger don't and he said so recently
Lionel Messi has provided 36 assists for Barcelona this season and has been on the winning side in 16 of the 20 games he has played
Just came across this on BBC, no way 36 assist in 20 matches???
Henry and Bergkamp are once in a lifetime players, Chris.
That we had them playing together seems even more incredible as time goes by...
Not talking about Giroud.
Of course you were talking about Giroud, Chris.
Stop talking about Giroud GT you obsessed caant.

Goes for plenty of teams and attacks too.
Literally my whole point is that having an out and out target man/CF is not the only option for attacking football.
It irritates me when people say we shouldn't sign X striker because they aren't good at holding up the ball and in the air etc. It seems people classify strikers these days with one of two options of A) a typical CF or B) a poacher.
Anyone see Thierry on Graham Norton's show, btw?
Forgot all about it on Friday what with the match and everything, but caught the repeat late last night. He's only on for the last 20 mins or so, if you want to avoid the rest of the show, (and who could blame anyone for that?).
No particularly interesting snippets to report, but the guy is just such a cool dude.
