An enduring tradition which was first introduced under Herbert Chapman. When the Arsenal players first run out on to the pitch, at home or away, they line up and turn to applaud all four sides of the stadium, as a mark of respect to those who have paid to watch them play.
Under Arsene Wenger, this tradition was slightly adapted, allowing the Arsenal supporters to boo and chant, "SPEND SOME FAAACKING MONEY!" As they wondered where last season's club captain was.

Leslie and Dennis Compton, who played together against Liverpool in the victorious FA Cup Final team of 1950, were the most legendary of all the Arsenal siblings.
Centre half Leslie, who enjoyed a stint as captain, once scored ten goals in a wartime fixture against Clapton Orient. Like his brother, he played cricket for Middlesex. Outside left Dennis was, of course, a cricketing hero for England and Middlesex.

Zenit officials say that the reports of Hulk going to Arsenal are "complete nonsense". "We've never received any bid from the London club."
