It could be, although I'm not realy convinced. First, Honigstein is really pro-German so I'd would take his opinion seriously. He would have said the same about Argentina if there were missing Messi.
But as for Ribery, I think it will "free" the team and they will try to get goals from everywhere around the pitch. Whereas when Ribery play, it is more like "give him the ball, he do the rest".
My worry is that he was our only established WC player and could create something on his own
