What's Arsenal's football identity atm?

Do we even have one?

Come close to building a title winning team, but make sure you don't complete it.

Jenius saw this post on another thread:

'They have 6 first team defenders but are they as capable as each other? Obviously not or why is Terry still their go to man?'

We may have fewer CB defenders but Chambers/Kos/Per are all top notch and have been subbing for each other already.'

So in your opinion Chambers is a better defender than Ivanovic?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How many times does he play in the middle? Read it again. Why do you think Mourinho still trusts 'no legs' Terry to Ivanovic?

It doesn't matter how many players you have. You can only play 10 outfield players at a time and there is no guarantee he will step up as a CB. In fact Mourinho does not trust him to!

World class signings like DiMaria and Falcao have really damaged United just coz they got rid of a striker that was never anywhere near good enough for them, makes sense I guess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

When did I say that?

Do you honestly think that Man Utd bought Di Maria and Falaco because they needed them.

Rooney and RVP won them the feckin league.

Most pundits have said that they could have done with more midfield players and defenders. But they went for glory buys? Why exactly did they do that?

The 'no legs' Terry is still one of the best CB's in the league.

Mourinho has already stated that he will use Ivanovic in a CB role whenever Terry needs rest, that's why he bought Luis.

The number of headlines created by one £16m signing.

master stroke.

?

One of the most important factors going down the 'galactico' route is to generate a lot of positive press. That positive press often feeds into fears of other teams. They arrive beaten before kicking a ball which all increases the mystique of the Galactico players.

But instead its all Welbeck this morning.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry, J99, I like your positivity, but that's ridiculous.

Thanks for the laugh though, buddy.

Did we need Ozil and Sanchez?

We already had Cazorla and Theo for those roles.

They also finished 7th last season with RVP and Rooney so yes I do think they needed world class reinforcements like DiMaria and Falcao. You do know they have Valencia and Young playing on the wings for them.

-----------------

So a 33 year old is so good that he decides when he needs rest.
But Ivanovic is not as good as a 33 year old.

Ok I can accept that. And Arsenal have all shiite defenders. Not worth them even starting.

Lets change the title of the thread to Chelsea are the best and Arsenal are crud.

It may have escaped your notice, J99, but a lot of rival fans are laughing at us this morning.

"Danny Welbeck at Arsenal then - that just leaves Radamel Falcao to Manchester United as his replacement..."

Even the BBC were WUMming us last night.

If the 33 year old is still one of the best defenders in the league then why change him? Nesta was first choice till he was 36 and Maldini was almost 40.
