It's particularly sad that this generations greatest footballer gets this much ridiculous criticism. Where he should be absolutely worshipped for proving that technical ability and class can prevail in a game now dominated by the bigger and the stronger, he get's nothing but hammered from rival fans who simply must jump on the alternative bandwagon.

Those stats don't lie, but even if they did, we're talking a footballer here who can do unbelievable things, on a ridiculously consistent basis, but of course you'd know that if you weren't so blinkered with whatever it is that causes people to go against the grain just to be different.

Messi for me is the best player on the planet. Having 2-3 bad games doesn't change my judgement as Barcelona being the greatest team assembled.

The difference is games like this, bring the media down a notch or two and actually see things a little more clearly. Same with Bale. People are talking him in the same league as Ronaldo and Messi - That for me is the biggest joke I've ever head football related.

I think Bale is a great quality player but even Bale himself would get embarassed with the comparisons.
