top scored, how many were away from home and in big games
--

How about in both finals?
I can't think of many bigger away games than a CL clásico semifinal at the Bernabeu, where he didn't just score, he ran through the entire defence.

Top scorer for Barça in the history of the clásicos - small games, all of them?

Btw, do you remember who assisted Iniesta's goal vs Chelsea?

bale is simply ronaldo lite

Barca would thrash us in a one off game.

The amount of times i've seen United fans get optimistic about a game against Barca, only for us to have lost the game by half-time... We have been Barca's bîtch since the 90s

oh my you are embarassing yourself

1. messi was poor in both finals, and scored two goals. average performances and nicking a goal does not mean he is a great player.

2. assisted iniestas goal? are you kidding me. he passed the ball to iniesta who smacked it in from 30 yards. that is not an assist.

Nan

When your manager is Maradona and he refuses to play defenders there's only so much Messi can do, to be fair.

IF Bale played for either of the 'El Classico' games would he realistically start of ahead of either Ronaldo or Messi? I couldn't see it happen unless either were injured, unfit or playing poorly.

Barça looked totally rudderless both against Milan and against us tonight. No way they'll get past Milan playing like this.

How many goals has Ronaldo scored in El Classico now? I mean, he must be close to breaking records. Is he still on his run of scoring in all of them for the past 8-9 games consecutively?

the amount of times united have been written off and silenced people... (against madrid for example)

lets not forget anders frisks performances against chelsea for barca. barca cheated their way to that final

where would they be now if it wasnt for that

What part of 'ineffective' do you not understand? Having 80% possession and not being able to score is ineffective, is it not? Celtic had something like 11% against Real and scored 2 goals. Therefore, they are more effective given that mathematically speaking they need 5.5% possession to score. There is no denying that Barcelona are a very good team but let us not overlook the fact that they are ineffective.

So the next question is, how do we stop Ronaldo being effective in our return leg fixture?

posted on 26/2/13

They'd still be the best team in the world...

A couple of defeats against world class opponents doesn't change that fact any more than a defeat against Norwich makes Man United relegation fodder.

Fook sake John Toshack has just compared Bale to Ronaldo. can people stop doing that!

We bring in Scott Parker. Remember when he was the answer to England?!

It's a fecking joke! I don't know if people are clutching at straws and just trying to find a star to attach to the greats, or they actually mean it.

Ronaldo is up there with the likes of Messi, Pele and Maradonna. The first tier.

Bale just about makes the third tier of players.

How has Scott Parker got anything to do with our 2nd leg Champions match against Madrid?

Well you hadn't specified effective in terms of possession - even though that involves the inherent failure to acknowledge tiki taka also as a form of defence and, ultimately, conceding fewer goals than your opponent and losing fewer games.

I suppose I could reply in terms of effectiveness as total number of trophies won out of total possible, factoring in number of teams playing that style (i.e. 2) - where tiki taka's easily been the most effective style of football for the past half a decade.

Combo, does talking like that make you feel better about yourself? I'm 44 going on 45 btw.

its only a game, go eat some paella and leave me alone you bully!

-----------------------

Explain that based on his ability and form for 2 years please. Also give example of players he's not better than, with this whole 'tier' thing

As for clapping it...why? Because he doesnt play for us? If he played for us, we'd be absolute creaming over him, and rightly so.

Special talent, still young, playing tremendously well.

Man utd and real madrid play similar way. Lets see what happens. The irony was in the 2nd half I rarely felt we would concede, in fact was more disappointed rvp had 2 big chances to nearly wrap it up but didn't.

Barce are too direct. Don't know that happened to defending with the ball.

Haha you got me there . Fair played but I still think on a possession - game to game basis that they are inefficient
