.... talks sense BUT none of the huge squad of 40 were ever going to play his 'style' of football.
Talks about the 3 games over Christmas but the whole season up to that point had been DIRE ! As I said many times, he should have gone MUCH sooner ......
Only 8:22? Is it just one question then? Cheers for the link Shrop I’ll take a proper look later.
“We had played some good halves and bad halves”
Unfortunately no good games!
“I’d still have a job if we’d won 2 or 3 over Christmas”
Stale Solbakken, specialist subject the bleedin’ obvious!
Thanks for posting Shrops.
Interesting that he did not blame the players for 'dressing room unrest' despite being prompted twice by the presenter! That will upset a few who like to find scapegoats!

Nice find Shrop. I think he's right about the club having no direction and I almost got sucked into the Stale way of playing football before i remembered all his games I sat through.
he does talk a good game...... I miss him.....
No problem Hippo at least we got to see one of the funniest user names on here!
The most telling bit, just before I nodded off:
10-20% of the players were against him.
And 25,000 fans with more than half a brain
......I am afraid history told us that things were NOT going to improve (Cologne)
Interesting that he thought he was going to make 3 signings & now Dean S has been told we haven't got a pot to urinate in !!!
He also neglected to mention that the players he signed could not get through more than 30 minutes of running without the need for an hour's sleep in an oxygen tent.
Con man.
Shrops, I couldn't fault most of what he said. However, I'm almost glad we lost those 2 or 3 games he referred to otherwise we would have been condemned to even more of the most dire and boring football I have ever witnessed.
I think you're all being a wee bit unfair on the man. He had good things to say about the 2 M's and admitted that he had 80-90% backing from the players. I'm sure off camera, he would lower that figure.
Interesting to hear that he was specifically brought in to change the style of football for a possible return to the top flight as the old system didn't and wouldn't work again.
Dire football it may have been, but when you try to change a formula that has been in place for 6 years, coupled with the fact that 20% or more of the players were not able to change their playing style AND the injuries he had to put up with, then I am still of the belief that we would not be in the position we're in now had he stayed.
The transition would have taken a year maybe two, as he stated and given the fact that he would have had two more transfer windows to get in better players, I firmly believe that Morgan panicked and wasn't willing to keep his end of the bargain.
We now have a novice manager who has to change the style again and has yet to convince me, he's capable of not just keeping us in this division, but be able to get us promoted.
Even when you hear it directly from Stale, you put your own spin on it wolfie.
When he was asked about the support from the players he said around 80% or 90% in an unconcerned way as though that is the norm at most clubs. You believe that he exaggerated that figure. Why would he or why should he? He has nothing to lose by telling it how it was.
Even when the interviewer asked him the question again to prompt the kind of response that you are alluding to, Stale didn't 'bite'.
It appears to me that he had the support of the players who were willing to adopt his new style but it wasn't working.
He was sacked for delivering poor results not because of an underlying conspiracy against him.

It was interesting to hear him say 80% of the players were behind him. Just as it has been interesting to hear Doyle say recently that he did support him when there was universal condemnation of Doyle's effort during his time here, particularly in the latter stages.
Then we still have people who understandably have been impressed by what Stale has to say despite the fact the guy showed he had absolutely no idea how to implement what he was talking about.
All of this adds to the view that the media and what Stale described as the Social Media crap rules the world. When people reflect on Stale it seems there are a surprising number of people who still judge him on what he says and have little regard for what was happening on the pitch.
Morgan will always have my support for getting rid of the guy to save us sitting through the most boring football ever seen at the club for any longer.
Funny you should say that wolfie puts his own spin on it.
At the start of this thread you pointed out that stale did not mention unrest, but the percentage figure says otherwise doesnt it.
To be fair to Stale, he is one confused mess of conflicting nonsense - anybody remember the HUGE quotes that Tara used to put up daily?

I remember 80-90% of you didn't want me to do it. Then Admin1 sacked me.
