SAF did similar thing to get rid if van nistlerooy so won't be surprised to see Rooney go. I hope he does go abroad for the better if his career. SAF has ruined him.

Ever since the season started, i have had this unnerving feeling that something's brewing b/w SAF and Rooney

I think he's gone, also the forward from Dortmond has told everyone he's coming to united...one has to leave. Also the opening game of the season with fergies comments suggested to me that he's had enough and my take the money and bring in some fresh players in the summer

Rooney is gone this summer.

I don't even think there is any doubt. I've been saying for ages that RVP and Kagawa are already at the club as his replacements as well as Welbeck needing more game time as a striker.

Something had to give and it's Rooney.

Colleen tweeting as she did last night for me was something that

1) would have irked the boss and
2) showed just how unexpected it must have been to the Rooneys.

In addition to all that Rooney missed a golden chance to equalise with a few precious minutes to go.

Get used to the idea he's being sold guys.

Yes it well may.
But at that time, SAF did not have any other alternative. We were quite dependent on Rooney so there was nothing SAF could do except try to stop him.

I also feel that Rooney's injuries this season have been quite overstated. SAF drops him for 4-5 games and says that he has a knock, i am not too sure....

I think it might have had more to do with the owners and their sponsorship deals.

Well if Welbecks his replacement were fooked.

Guess you haven't seen how well Welbeck played in both legs against Real then?

We better spend big big money on his replacement if we sell him.

Cavani or someone of that ilk.

Anything less is unnaceptable

He ran a lot and did feck all else.

He's scored two goals all season. Absolute dross of a return. He's an embarrassing finisher.

RVP, Welbeck and Kagawa are his replacements.

But I guess getting hammered by Real Madrid means we should panic and spend £50 million on a new signing.

When have we ever replaced players like for like.

Who was Keane's replacement, Who was RVN's replacement, Who was Ronaldo's replacement, Scholes etc...

Welbeck does not need to be a replacement for someone. He himself has some outstanding attributes and is still very young. He may not become a 30 goal a season player but he provides a whole lot of other things to the team.
I am much more comfortable seeing Welbeck start a game against big sides than Rooney.

How many of those games has Welbeck played as a striker though?

He scored in Madrid and his touch last night caused our goal so he's in the right areas when he needs to be.

despite everyone banging on about how it wont happen, i genuinely thing Rooney will be sold and fergie will try and bring ronaldo back to utd in the summer.

watching his interview last night he was asked if we would see him in a utd shirt soon.

his answer was eerily similar to 4 years ago

"in the future you never know, in my future, but at then minute i am happy at madrid".

He had nothing to do with our goal

Agreed Dunk

Everyone thinks Ronaldo will cost £80 million + but his value has actually gone down with a combination of advanced age and nearing the end of his contract.

Watch the goal again mate. Nani crosses it in and Welbecks touch deflects it onto Ramos' foot.

Not saying it was by design but at least he was in the area and caused enough havoc for us to benefit.

He's not getting any credit for that whatsoever.

Sorry you also say he has mainly sued as a winger, well when Rooney was 22 I'm fairly confident he did aswell to accommodate and get the very best from Ronaldo. He still managed to bag 20+ goals. Welbecks not fit to lace roones boots, if anyone should be sold its him.

Welbeck on a fair few times last night showed he had te touch of an absolute cart horse.
