I doubt it Yorks, can't stand them egg chasing idiots on our pitch, and hate it even more when they fooking slide for 30 metres to score a try! I'm wondering if putting sharp glass ont pitch would help with that problem!
when they trap their nobs in a spinkler they'll stop doing that...
New 6 thousand capacity ground built between Brighouse & Elland in the Calder valley,
(1 thousand seater)
Halifax RLFC & Huddersfield RLFC to ground share there,
Leaving Huddersfield Town & Halifax Town at their own grounds in Peace.
How easy was that
It makes perfectly good commercial sense for Football and Rugby League/Union clubs to ground share.
Wigan Athletic share theirs with the Warriors as do Hull City & Hull RLFC, Watford & Saracens RUFC, Swansea City & Ospreys RUFC, Cardiff City & Cardiff RUFC, plus quite a few others in the lower divisions.
West Ham Utd are also on the look out for a Rugby club to share their new Olympic Park facilities, once the move in.
So what is wrong with sharing your ground with a Rugby club - nothing whatsoever and all you need is a competent groundsman who fully understands what type of grass to grow and how to keep in tip top condition throughout the season.
It's a pity some of you lot can't remember the state of the old Leeds Road playing surface, which as every winter approached, was totally devoid of grass, except for a small patch in each corner, but it didn't stop Town in the days of Dennis Law, Vic Metcalf & Kevin McHale etc serving up some excellent football.
Anyhow, good players can play on owt and it's only second raters who blame the pitch.
Technology is better now mirf.............. We now have colour tv's, and wireless means something totally different
Must admit the pitch has never been as bad. Bring back Ray Chapel.

You all know it is not our pitch, we just pay rent to play on it. KD and his company spent £750k on it summer before last. What a waste of money that was. Anyway if you rent something, should it not be 'fit for purpose' or you can get it fixed or your money back. So DH get on the phone to find out when the pitch is being fixed or get our rent money back off that KD bloke.

Is it not the fault of bad weather and the undersoil heating that's caused so much damage to the pitch? Or am I beleiving all the guff being spouted by the club, as we all know it's them bloody egg chases!!!
Hydy, when you signed on last night, my mate claims he knows you and knew you had a twin and a sister...........spooky!!!
What about an older brother?
Just been on the Charlton club website & it appears they want to beat Huddersfield United this weekend! They need hammering just for that.
He never mentioned the older brother, but did get rest right. Did you live in Mirfield??
Grass pitches could be in the past as they are always failing, just look at Man Utd, they change theirs virtually every year. The future has to be the Desso system like they have at Widnes. Its fully artificial, doesnt require undersoil heating and minimal maintenance, just a brush!!! Its been approved for football and rugby and its in use all year round and when I was at their ground yesterday it was amazing, nothing like those pitches Luton and the like had.
If we are going to ground share I cant see another alternative as relaying the pitch every year only is worth it if you have Man Utds money
Is Man Utd's more down to such high stands, so Natural light and wind is not getting to the grass?
It's a bit harsh blaming the egg chasers for the sate of the pitch. How many times have they played on it since the start of the football season?
More likely that its just a poor pitch/job. Ken probably put it out to tender and accepted the lowest quote.
Man Utd have problems with OT pitch due to the fact it hardly gets any sunshine on thanks to having 4massive stands around it, that's why they pay thousands for those lighting rigs they move up and down it everyday.
Town however shouldn't have that problem, no massive stands, no filled in corners so we shouldn't have these problems.
If I were Dean Hoyle and Clibbo I'd be onto KSDL demanding they put the pitch right in the summer.
So has anyone said exactly is wrong with the pitch ?
Did someone leave the sprinklers on all night when it was -5c ?
Charlton match thread will be up this afternoon....
Inter, yes Mirfield.
But we all went to Westborough. How does your mate know us?
Its a fair point about the Man Utd pitch being poor due to daylight issues which we shouldnt have. The Schalke pitch shows that they benefit from being able to be exposed to more natural light.
Ours has been better in the past so I reckon something has gone wrong. From personal experience I know if pitches are seeded at the wrong time they dont take as well and if not left to mature properly they suffer. I think the problem is they have such a short window to do anything about it in the summer that its not enough to make it a sustainable pitch.
Thats why personally I think a fully artificial Desso system is far better. Maybe if sunnier countries this isnt an issue but we have too much water and not enough sun and thats not a great combination for a good pitch.
They were spraying garlic on the pitch yesterday for some reason
Does Dracula play for Charlton?
