Rangers will move from the fourth tier of Scottish football (now) to the third tier.
But under the rules of promotion and relegation, we will be denied a promotion.
We will move from the 3rd tier of the sfl to the 3rd tier of the spfl.
But to be honest, that's not even the important part. What the flying puck is that bit about the mystery bonus deduction of 5 points about?
Some right cretins commenting on that.
These rules are a shambles though.
I like how the championship is actually impossible to win. So their will never be a champion of the championship.
Genius!

Aye you like that bit.
Wait till you are about to receive the Spfl trophy next year having played Newco Hearts, and as soon as the final whistle goes, I siren sounds and an announcement comes over the tannoy that you have not won anything, but you have to beat the big boss.
The big boss turns out to be all the ex ebt players, who come running out of the Celtic park stand and take to the pitch, instantly halfing the biggest Celtic home attendance of the year.
Don't fecking put it past them.
Dude...
I've had a few snorters, a few doobies...That makes zero sense to me, who are the ex ebt players? Are they the ones that have paid back their 'loan' ?
Enough aboot yir king billy Gus

with the further five-point deduction applied at a stage of the season when the SPFL board determined it would have the most meaningful impact."
.........................
So it would be within the same season as the original 10 point penalty but they would not officially add it until it had maximum effect?
Like knocking them into relegation places or off first place...
Assuming it does have to be done in the same season then it seems pointless not adding it straight away. If it doesn't then it is even crazier!!
I'm guessing the only logic for choosing when to add the penalty, is that if the team is destined to finish in the bottom half, then it makes sense to wait till all their points have been removed, before they remove 5 more if that makes sense.
It also means that some clubs, if they are really bad, could actually gain points from the mid year split.
Say hearts next year are so bad, that they lose their first 18 games or so, and go into admin. They are on -15 points at the split. The spl then give them 15 points as a special bonus to bring them back up to 0 points.
Fantastic stuff.
It's like if rain-man invented football. "Hot water burn baby!"
surely it wont go through, the clubs still have to vote.
There's 3 spl teams against this though is there not.
Getting a little confused now, is this something to do with the change to your league system as well?
Is that what is meant by split?
Not the split, but sfl and spl become one entity.
It wouldn't affect us until a year, but in essence the last season would be rendered pointless.
They will be distracted by a extra special buffet lunch and wowed by a troupe of dancing midgets and sign up for this without even reading the rules. That's just how they roll in Scotland now.
Even if we are to be kept in the bottom tier, hell even if they find a way to relegate us further, at least find a solution that is going to help the fecking game.
This has disaster written all over it.
They have a whole division, that is impossible to win. Wtf is that all about?
